Handy point to drop into for reasonably priced fuel if travelling along the M4, to avoid expensive service charges. The store is also big, so handy to pick bits up as well. A good secret stop for those who don't live in the area, but travel through on the M4 regularly. Only issue is coming out of the petrol station to re-join the M4 is a real pain if busy - the road layout is not very good at dealing with heavy traffic.

Stamford Street UpdateWe've had to tighten our belts a little this year, so you can understand our joy upon spying Sainsbury's very cheap Christmas crackers from their new value range "Stamford street". What an impact they made too. The cracker pulling initially was admittedly a little disappointing, just a sound of tearing crepe paper, no sulphur or cap gun pop ,then there being no toy was also a shame and the lack of joke I'm sure must've annoyed somebody or another. The crepe crown was there, a little small for an adults head but that didn't matter as they quickly disintegrated. Sainsbury really have managed here to deliver a stern wake-up call to the poor- highlighting their overall fiscal failure and lack of Christmas planning throughout the year. I'm sure it's their sincere hope that in future after such a shock as this the poor might be, at the least, urged to spend a couple more quid on their crackers and hopefully work a bit longer and a bit harder even get off buying on benefit street all together.Sainsbury must know that the whole new Stamford Street. range is of a quality lower than any I've seen in 50 years - Virtually devoid of nutrition, unhealthy 2nd class tasteless rubbish. watered down with enhancers to minimise production costs and earmarked for those that can no longer afford to worry about their health or quality of lifeWhy wait for the lawsuit from some jobs worth government technician testing the muck for free radicals or carcinogenic e numbers. You might not be M and S, but you're better than this.Do it for Tiny Tim.Happy New Year

This is a large store with a great selection of items. Very close to the M4 which makes it very handy. Though I don't live very close I always find it a great stop on long drives to use their petrol station and pick up anything I need. Also in the vicinity is a good sized Boots amongst other shops and a McDonalds. Certainly more price friendly than a motorway service station. If we lived close I could see us using this a lot. Notwithstanding that it is a handy place to have knowledge of for commutes along the M4.

Nicely organised, spacious, not too cold away from the fridges. Love the new charcuterie and cheese board section.

The tills were working today and there were no long queues, which makes a pleasant change. However, there were quite a few gaps on the shelves.

It was very average. It could be much more inviting, a place where you want to visit.

Despite Sainsbury's website stating their commitment to recycling, that one of their core values is the environment and that they have recycling facilities at the Calcot store they no longer offer recycling at Calcot. Disappointing that they no longer care about the planet, being green or up-to-date communication with customers. Store has great range however will re-think going there now...

Unlike Tesco staff, when I asked today about availability of a product on promotion but not on the shelf, Sainsbury's staff just wanted to fob me off because they couldn't be bothered to check! Unsurprisingly I will give my custom to Tesco's, who's staff have been trained to put the customer first, rather than their own convenience!!

The staff are excellent very knowledgeable and always ready to help. The products are good quality. The only negative experience I've had is that everything has moved. I realise that was unavoidable. But I find it frustrating until I get used to it. I can't buy mince as it looks revolting in the new packaging. So I buy from a butcher. I hope they don't bring in food with a substance called apeel on it. And I can't stand Halloween. But that's only temporary. They get 5 stars though because all around it's a great place to shop.
