We popped into the Greene Oak on our way back to Windsor. The food was excellent, as was the service, very polite and aimable. Starters; the roasted beetroot and the mackerel, main: fish and chips (big portions) and roast chicken which was succulent. I indulged in a vanilla cheesecake which was divine..it came in a double layered cup.For a Monday lunch time there were several people there. The garden looks lovely so I can't wait to try it out again in Summer, although I may go back earlier. Also I like the fact that the discretionary service charge was not included automatically .We did tip though. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely pub.

Food was ok. Iron steak was super tough. Sauce for steaks is like mayo, super heavy. Service was a bit slow for a Tue night. Overall it?s ok for a casual night out but I wouldn?t go back.

Decent pub, decent food. Nice whisky and bourbon selection, not big but nicely formed.

Stopped in after a rather disappointing trip to Legoland. They seated us as a walk in (five of us) for an early dinner. Service was exactly as you?d want in an environment like this; polite, attentive and casual. Stylish, comfortable interior.Food was FANTASTIC. Everyone loved their dinner.

While the roast dinner earned praise for its well-cooked sides (among the top 25% of pub roasts, I'd say), the starters fell flat. The chickpea croquettes, priced at £8.50 for three bite-sized pieces, felt overpriced and underwhelming. Similarly, the £4.50 bread basket offered a meagre four small slices. The atmosphere unfortunately suffered due to numerous children engrossed in loud iPads, creating a cacophony reminiscent of an Osaka pachinko hall. This detracted from the dining experience despite the commendable roast.A final curious note: the vegetarian nut roast curiously included pork/bacon pigs in blanket. While fortunate in this case, due to use not actually being vegetarian, I did find it strange that these were included in the only vegetarian roast option and makes you wonder what's going on in the kitchen.Overall, while the roast shines, the underwhelming starters, questionable value, and noisy atmosphere make a return visit unlikely.Vegetarian options: not actually vegetarian!
