This strikes you as the kind of pub that used to be a big deal x decades ago, and has slowly died off. It's a very large building and mostly nobody is in there. I wouldn't want to pay the rent on it. Fine for a drink or three but where are the regulars? other than some darts-playing society once a month. I'd hate to see it disappear though.

Only had a couple of drinks. Was a Sunday night so quiet but the landlord was friendly and genuine.

Of the 8 pumps only 2 largers available. Sadly I can't see this pub being open much longer.

Don't park here, they charge you 100 quid if you don't pay in ten minutes, or 70p an hour, just to send a parcel at the lockers, crazy place to park, drove onwards to macdonalds instead, macdoalds charge nothing for 90 minutes

Nice Beer Garden. Only one Real Ale Available ( Brakspears Gravity). Not the best kept Pint but passable.

We visited the Duke's Head as a starting point for a circular countryside walk we were planning around that end of Wokingham. We arrived very early (about 11am!) before the pub was properly open, but the landlord very kindly offered us hospitality and drinks. The pub is large and has a nice garden space, and felt welcoming and cosy. The landlord was very friendly and chatted with us - he mentioned that there's b & b accommodation available too, so we may well come back and take him up on this and explore a bit more of the town, which is full of character and interesting shops and buildings. We really enjoyed our visit, and it made a great start to our day and our impression of Wokingham as a whole. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Visited Saturday night. The music and the waitress behind the bar were the standouts for the evening. The pub, however, is in need of some serious TLC. Very run down looking giving a vibe of being dirty. I'd struggle to recommend this pub in its current state.

Worst pub ever!!
Limited parking and Michael the landlord is extremely rude.
I also certainly wouldn?t recommend eating there based on what behind the bar looks like... ?
Oh, also the landlord allows people without a pub licence to work there, ALONE, at night.. disappearing with his wife for hours at a time.
Absolutely diabolical.
Would seriously recommend not wasting your time or money eating there (or risking your health for that matter) ??

Poor value for money compared to other venues I've stayed in for similar money. Hotel room generally grubby and dusty. There was no food available in the evening. I'd used the fact they served food when making the booking............ Disappointed.
