It does exist, so it does get one star... but broadly a terrible place.

I queued at this branch for 45 minutes this morning with my toddler. There were two counters open one occupied by a customer wanting help with the Barclays app (it took the entire 45 minutes for this man to be attended to. We eventually reached the front of the queue and as an existing customer I wanted to open a savings account for my child. I was told I couldn?t do that today and needed to make an appointment. I was really quite annoyed by now and so was my toddler. I asked if they could possibly make allowances and help and do it today. I was told they were short staffed and that the first appointment would be 9th November. The manager was milking around in the background and I asked the staff if maybe she could open an account for me as she wasn?t helping on the front desks. I was told ?she doesn?t do that sort of thing?. At this point I said - I?m going to Lloyds you?ve just lost a customer and a potential new customer. Why can?t a manager help their staff if there?s a staff shortage and why can?t staff help a mum who has queued for 45 minutes with opening an account? I did go to Lloyd and was greeted when I entered by two lovely ladies who were only too willing to help. I was invited straight into one of the side rooms and opened an account there and then. The cashiers when I paid in the large sumof cash we?re polite and jolly and engaged with my little boy. Barclays you?ve lost two customers- you need to replace the staff at Westbury.

Had to go here ( from Nailsea ) as couldn't save password on Barclays App. Used landline to voicemail (PIN) but it does not (probably) a chance to get an appoinment at Wesbury-o-Trym. Had to go to there to try to get appointment . But only staff persons were one at counter (plus one in office - but in use to one customer for 30mins).Took 25+ min to get to down to 4 customers (from 12 cus' as at I got in).I then used ATM system to use transference [can use my debit card + PIN with hint of my date]However the limit to amount Ican xfer - to families & friends - is only shows amount allowed JUST UNTIL END OF PUTTING TOTAL ENTRIES !I have a hint of Aphasia. This is tricky for as system is BECOMING only by Smart phone or online home computer.AND NO CHANCE TO contact via app't or without smart-app !!

Mitch, a super friendly and helpful member of the Barclay's team, provided excellent service. He was more than happy to go far and beyond with his customer service.Thank you Mitch 10/10.

Barclays used to give good customer service, but today in the branch it was pretty poor. Had an automated messaged/alert from my app and they couldn't really see it in the branch, so couldn't really solve my issue, apparently the staff in the branch and the app seemed to work separately, which is not really what you would expect. The earliest appointment they could offer to open a child account was in two month, again shocking considering you would expect them to want new customers, so will look into other options/banks! Obviously should get more staff in order to have appointments whitin a couple of weeks, but it seems all they are interested in is taking your money, without giving back anything, which I suppose is what banks are for right?!

Went in to the Westbury on Trym branch yesterday (12th January 2023) to pay in 16 cheques. No queue. Cindy and Ruth provided an excellent and friendly service.I understand that Barclays take decisions on whether they close branches on the level of complaints including those about queues. Because of Barclays policy of cost cutting and closing branches it means that the few remaining branches get queues and complaints. This then, in Barclays logic, justifies further closures. Crazy!

Long queues. Slow. My teller was ok, but didn't get a large customer service vibe from anyone.

This has to be the most understaffed bank in Bristol. I regularly have to wait forty minutes in a que outside just to see a cashier to do a business drop off as they provide no provision by other means! I have spoken to a cashier about this but her attitude was not very helpful to say the least! Having being a customer for over 25 years and witnessed this decline it is a sad reflection of very very poor management hence i will now look to bank elsewhere.

Their Walk in Wednesdays are brilliant! Rather than wait weeks for an appointment to open a trust, I just walked in, didn't gave to wait long, then they sorted it out there and then. Minimal fuss and the person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent stuff!

The queue is down the road?. One cashier has closed but is there. ATM just took my Curve metal card, cause the card is too thick - they won?t give it back. They said the issuer might of taken it for a reason. ? so angry. (True but I can verify myself on my curve app). Barclays is an immoral bank & customer service is terrible). Moving to starling.
