Staff chat and gossip on a single till instead of making sure the customers are served. The queue was long yet they kept laughing and chatting instead of serving customers by using other till

I?m disgusted. I?ve had to leave for school early today because I was sick and my mother had asked me to get some stuff in the shop. I?m wearing a coat of course because it?s freezing and was raining a bit. I?ve just been in another shop so my coat pockets already had some stuff I had BOUGHT in them and they were zipped. I was holding a pack of cheese that costed 2.40 (who steals something that cheap???) and then a women has come up to me saying I was trying to put it into my pocket. I understand there?s been an issue with shoplifting lately so I?ve just tried to tell her I hadn?t and my pockets were shut, even opening them to show her they were too full to put anything in anyway. And to my horror she stated that the stuff in my pockets was probably stuff I?ve already nicked. Then proceeded to start questioning me on why I wasn?t in school as if she had any right to know. I?m already quite upset as she had embarrassed me and there were people watching so I?ve just put the cheese back and went to leave deciding id go Lidl. Then she?s stopped me again! Asking where I?ve put it then proceeded to search all my pockets and my bag. Finally ending off with your clean, thank you for letting me search you. Not even an apology. After everything she had done to embarrass me when I had done nothing she could t even apologise. I?ve been shopping here for a while and I?ve never had anyone do this and it was quite hurtful to be honest.

Go there most weeks and they really need to manage the tils better. There was a queue of 10 people, 3 staff having a chat and 1 on the til. A guy in the queue shouted down to the staff chatting to come and help out on tils. It shouldnt be down to customers to get staff to serve them. This happens quite alot and there doesn't seem to be any supervision there.

This is the second time visiting Iceland where I have issues at the till trying to make a purchase. Both occasions it has been the same cashier. First time I was trying to buy an iced coffee on the go. The lady behind the till decided she needed to ask me for ID (even though her till never prompted her to do so). I don't like confrontation and I work retail and hospitality so I didn't want to be difficult and showed her my valid, in date EU government issued ID (same as the British one, just European). She stared for a few minutes and then let me buy the coffee. I gave her the benefit of the doubt as I understand when you see a form of ID you're not familiar with you might be taken aback. All was good.Today however, I went to buy some Greggs for Iceland items and decided to buy some beer as it's cheaper here than both Sainsbury's and Lidl. She asks for ID, I give her my ID card. She tells me she needs to ask somebody else, with which again I'm absolutely fine with. Her colleague then reassures her in front of me that my ID is absolutely valid and perfectly fine, so she can go ahead with the transaction no problem. She then huffs and hurriedly walks off one of the aisles in the shop. I'm standing there in awe wondering what is happening now. She then comes back and tells me she's spoken to a second member of staff who has told her to deny me the sale. She also feels she has the right to advise me to apply for an identity card. She then adds that "it's not personal". I have never had any issues purchasing restricted items in this particular branch with any of her colleagues - I have also never had any issues with my ID in any of the other supermarkets in the area. The official website for Iceland states in their Responsible About Alcohol policy that "At the point of sale, we operate a strict ?Challenge 25? policy, requiring any customer who appears to be under the age of 25 to produce appropriate proof of their age and identity: a driving licence, passport or a card from another Government-approved scheme" - My EU ID falls under this category. I would maybe suggest revisiting some training about different valid forms of identification. She always goes above and beyond not to serve me, and frankly saying that "it's not personal" doesn't feel quite honest to me, because otherwise I can't understand why this situation seems to repeat itself whenever I try to be served by her.

No sense whatsoever with substitutes, just dont send you anything when there are items available that could of been substituted instead. Good luck if you need to call the store, ive been trying for 2 days. Our delivery driver is the only saving grace, hes lovely.

This rating is purely for the security guard that I witnessed today running at full speed after appearing from literally no-where to grab the bloke who thought he could just take stuff and leave ... Hope someone gets him a pint as that was great! 10/10 security guard, hi-five to you

I was going to let this slide, but for a 2nd time I have heard from my uncle, that he was out on a Sunday walk and that Iceland drivers from this store are deliberately going around driving through large puddles when people are walking and splashing them. I think they must all find it funny in-house, because this happened to me a few weeks ago and I gave them the area and time the event happened but unfortunately didn't get the reg plate of the driver. They replied saying they will deal with it but clearly they just told me that to keep me quiet.
