Very fond memories of RAF Halton I was stationed there in the late 70's doing my trade trainingAlways remember bed inspections where sometimes your kit & even your bedding ended going out the window even though you were on the 3rd floor of a block ,Parading on the square when it was absolutely freezing , great times

Ended up passing the camp entrance on a bird photography scout and it brought back so many memories of my time there.I'm sure it's changed a lot in the last twenty three years but I can still remember how much I hated those first weeks but for anyone who's in the same position I'll say push through and talk to the people around you, my sergeant in particular was amazing, really helped me push myself especially when I was feeling alone and awkward.

got to say since our girl got accepted 2 join RAF Halton the acceptance, effort, support & encouragement they give people, the difference in her confidence (esp with being bullied at school) goes above & beyond makes me so proud

I did my basic training here in 2002. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, except for one of our corporal, who was sleazy, and tried it on with all the female recruits. Hopefully he is no longer a trainer. My favourite aspect was training with the RAF Regiment. Some of what I learned, I still utilise today, and i held onto my field manual.

Our son has recently graduated from RAF Halton, as parents we can't fault the whole process, during the early days of the 10 weeks training, we deceided we wouldn't contact him unless he did us. He focused on what was expected from him , due to his nature and his work ethos,he graduated, and was presented with an award , as parents we would like to thank all staff who assisted, encouraged and sort only perfection in getting our son through the training. Thank you

Parade well done, however the wait inside was quite long drawn out and social Distancing was pretty difficult.Toilets flooded downstairs and no refreshments offered in anyway shape or form. The actual parade was quality, disappointing with rip off pieces for media.Especially DVD £28, Blu Ray £29 and a midia stick £30.

Was wondering who I could get in touch with -regarding lost Medals - belonging to my late Brother William O?Kane that were granted to him during the 2nd World War but that got lost a good few years ago - his wife Audrey had then remarried 10 years later & had a daughter who- when we asked about the Medals (after her Mother died ) told us they got lost during the time the family moved house- I was suspicious about this as I know Audrey treasured these Medals as did her lovely new Husband - this daughter too has - since died -at a young age- and we have lost track of her daughter -so I - being the youngest in our family wondered if it was true that a copy of this Medal can be done by the RAF as I (who will be 90 in December) would love to pass it on to Williams Twin Sister Mary?s Son who has always interested in his Uncles War time stories- he now has his wings as William was a Flight /Lt and I?m almost sure that as -he William- and my other Brother Harold -who became a Sgt - had starred their training in Halton at the ages of 15- that you might be able to help me- he was one of the Squadron of the late Captain Leonard Cheshire who I was delighted to meet some years ago here in Australia - he too has passed away but as he gave me his address we had kept in touch & it was his Wife who passed on this sad news to me & to thank me for keeping in touch- I still have all have all his Christmas Cards and the letter his wife wrote to me - so this is why I am writing to you to see if you can enlighten me as to what to do- sincerely Sarah Chenery née O?Kane - (will welcome your news)

Not as much fun as when pegs & the nurses were here. Still, a thoroughly good place to visit should you require military training of some sort
