NEVER EAT HERE. I had a table booked for 6 people on Mothers Day at 1pm. When we turned up (on time), they were aware of the booking but had made no effort to put a table together, and we had to wait while they did this. We all ordered a roast dinner, and the waitresses were almost apologetic when they brought the tiny portions out. The Yorkshire puddings were completely flat, and almost impossible to cut with a steak knife. Eventually we asked to speak to a manager, who acknowledged there was a problem but wouldn't go into details as to what it was. It would have been easier to close the kitchen than to serve that attrocious food. We paid a contribution towards the bill (as agreed with the manager), left without out free desserts and went home sorely disappointed. Will never eat here again. The staff are lovely, and couldn't have been more helpful, but the food was embarrassing. The chef should be fired immediately

The room was fine and better than most other pub type accommodation. We stayed 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) and unfortunately the maid forgot to service our room. Breakfast on the 2nd morning wasn't available because the kitchen was broken so we paid £24 across the road instead. We are relaxed travellers and can tolerate this, but when I asked for the checkout time, I was told it was 11am. I explained that we had a taxi booked for the airport at 11.30am, the lady said that that wasn't possible because they had a full check out and check in so we had to be out by 11am. This was a Sunday evening and I simply don't believe it and they were just being awkward. Also surprised that the bar in a UK pub closed at 10.30pm (very strict even though there was plenty of people wanting drinks). Anyway, prepare yourself for a Basil Faulty type experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night after visiting Bletchley Park which was only half an hour away. Had low expectations of the hotel after reading some reviews but we were both pleasantly surprised. The room was really modern and clean and the bathroom was lovely! We had a great nights sleep as the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the breakfast let it down slightly as it wasn?t the best, but with it being included in the price (and the price being more than fair) we couldn?t complain. On the plus side, there are cooked breakfast options and a selection of cereals and croissants so you don?t leave feeling hungry. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Staff were all nice and very helpful and ideally situated in the centre of Aylesbury.

Can not comment on the actual stay as it never happened. After booking a room here, I received a phone call to inform me they were over booked and could not honour the booking. Manager was lovely on the phone at the time, however, over two weeks later and I?ve received no communication, no refund, and no replies to any of my attempts to contact. Disappointed and frustrated because I had to pay for a different hotel so am out of pocket currently with no idea when I?ll get my money back.

Popped in for lunch after a shopping trip . Sat down, after ordering food and drink at the bar to a broken chair when I tried to pull myself towards the table the chair top wasn't attached to the chair and I sat on my finger! I tried other chairs and after finding 2 that were in the same sorry state I finally found one . Only wanted a sandwich, the didn't have the one I wanted so went for the next best thing brie and bacon with cranberry on wholemeal, after a long wait I recieved a scruffy white bread toastie which I immediately sent back for wholemeal. By this point my friend had already got through half of her meal . By the time she had finished my wholemeal sandwich came . It was burnt and wasn't even brie , was some nasty sliced cheese with the saddest amout of cranberry and some pale cold bacon. I did recieve a refund but I felt hungry and tired and had a bruised finger from the knackered chair . Not at all enjoyable and wouldn't not recommend even as a pit stop lunch .

Fantastic Sunday lunch! Can highly recommend the roast beef and the cauliflower cheese side was delicious. Stayed in room 103. Lovely modern room and bathroom, nicely decorated with a vaulted ceiling. Bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up! Had everything you need. Lovely staff and faultless stay! Thank you!

Lovely hotel from outside and in. My room was spacious, comfy with beautiful large windows and a higher vaulted style ceiling. Beds were so comfy i almost missed out on the amazing brekkie which had lots of choice. The chef there creates very tasty food from the cooked brekkie to the yummy steak & ale pie. Marcus and his team really look after you. Highly recommended.

Very poor. Some circumstances the staff could not help but that apart the place needs a total face lift. All public areas were dirty room could have been cleaner but bedding clean. Breakfast was a disaster! We went down at 9.15 told no chef and would be 20 minutes. 30 minutes later after coffee at costa we were told they could not serve for another 30minutes at which I said I would like a refund which they gave willingly. I would not advise booking here. I often wonder if bad reviews are fro comparing people be assured this is genuine I don?t say this lightly. ??

We have been here to eat many times when this was a Wetherspoons, cheap and cheerful. BUT today we visited and were very disappointed, it has been taken over and is dirty and uninviting. I struggled to find a wiped clean table. We tried to order food, but they did not have what we wanted and were uninterested in telling us what they did have. We paid for our drinks, and left. Never will we go there again.

Clean room, toiletries ok and good selection of tea, coffee etc. it is a run down pub without anything else that makes you feel you are in a hotel. You have to order breakfast in the pub, a greasy fry up. We waited about 10 minutes standing at the bar waiting to order as they were chasing the one other couple there to check they had paid when they booked. They tried to charge us twice as we had paid on booking. The card machine wasn?t working when we arrived and ten minutes later there was a knock on the door looking for payment after we had been asked to come and pay in half an hour or so. At breakfast we were served lukewarm tea and when I took it back the girl behind the bar with purple hair didn?t know where you got hot water from. It was awful, no tables laid just sort yourself out. It says there is parking but there isn?t. We found a car park nearby but we?re directed by the pub manager to one two minutes drive away but ten minutes walk away. We only picked the place because it had parking.

Sunday June 26th - Wanted a quick bite to eat before the cinema, we had 1hr15mins & thought we'd have no problem getting something here in time. 12:30pm - pub wasn't busy at all. Lady at the bar didn't tell us there was a wait for food. We wanted to order two full english breakfasts, but she said they weren't doing breakfast. Why is it called 'brunch' on the main menu then? We then waited 50mins for 2 starters and a main. Asked the manager to find out what was going on (we were a minute away from cancelling the whole order & asking for a refund) & he replied rudely "It's on your table now." with no apology. Felt sorry for the lady on the bar, she then had to run all the food out on her own, & clear tables. They were obviously short staffed and there must have only been one chef in the kitchen. Not great for a Sunday. The 'persian flatbread' (£4.95) was awful, absolutely rock hard. The 'crispy salt & pepper chicken wings' (£4.50) were bland, and the 'chargrilled chicken kebab' main meal consisted of 1 chicken skewer on a bed of rice. Bit of a joke for £10.95. We missed 20mins of the start of our film because of this. If we had known there was going to be a long wait, we would have gone to McDonald's & paid a third of the price. Popped in a week prior and enjoyed two cocktails for £10 though, this is the only good thing I've found so far about the pub, since it was taken over by Red Cat. Would definitely not return here to eat though.

I sometimes wonder why people give good honest, friendly hotels only one star!!! They must have very different views and expectations from us.. My husband and I have just spent three nights staying here and to say the staff were professional, respectful and attentive would be correct. When we arrived, the lady who checked us in offered to carry our case up to our room. Amy, the lovely lady who seemed to be at the venue regularly, was so kind and thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Our room was spacious and very well equipped with coffee bags, proper teabags etc. Penny, our house keeper left little presents of extra milk, tea etc each day. The policy is still to not come into the room while you are staying which we appreciated. Connor was great, a real character, so honest about his forgetfulness ? We will certainly not hesitate to book this venue again. Thank you everyone who works so hard?..

Just reopened so we thought we?d try a meal. Bar person said find a table, look at menu and come back to the bar and order. We did this only to be told sorry the kitchen has shut. Was only 18.45 so not late or anything. No wonder the place was empty. So many happy memories from when it was a Wetherspoons. Certainly won?t be going back.

I used to love going in to the bell, haven?t returned there since COVID year. But it seems they like to dish out bans quicker than bringing your drinks to the table?. Being told you?re banned but isn?t given A CLEAR ANSWER TO WHY!? the staff member likes to bring in personal drama and then wants to single me out because of it, whilst being intoxicated, never been told with a sober mind? I would never play the race card but when you start doing things such as not allowing someone to sit on a bench or even say hello to people standing outside and making it clear that you?re targeting me like that, then I will take it that way. It?s not my job to make you feel better about yourself. Think before you come for someone, especially someone of colour cause your doing more damage than you think?
