As a European-style coffee house, Caffe Nero started at the very beginning of the 1990s and has gone on to earn the hearts of Brits ever since. After opening the very first store in South Kensington, they very quickly saw success and opened four more stores within seven years. Today, there are nearly 560 Caffe Nero stores across the UK which puts them just a couple of hundred behind the might of Starbucks.
In addition to the classic coffee options, Caffe Nero is known for its frappe latte and specialty drinks including a Caramelatte (whipped cream and caramel sauce on top of a standard vanilla latte) as well as a white chocolate mocha. Although they aren't quite 'Fair Trade', they do work with farmers and state that they always pay a 'fair price'. With these relationships in place, they help farmers to thrive in their communities.
