Feeling thoroughly humiliated after my experience here. Went in to get a bulb changed in my car and was left waiting for over an hour while other customers got seen to because the member of staff behind the counter assumed I was the daughter of the customer sitting next to me, rather than a customer in my own right. I'm a 28 year old woman! Wasted most of my afternoon waiting and won't be giving this halfords my business again.

Promised me a refund of my £60 paid for a prebooked bike service and then charged me again. The service cost as much as a new cycle! No more Halfords for me! And NO PHONE CONTACT NUMBER ON WEBSITE.Matter now resolved but a company like this needs to re-examine their customer services especially with regards to contactability/communication skills.

called 6 times and no one answered. do you care about your customers enough? are you trying to close the store quickly so you're not answering customer calls? i also went in a few days prior and was greeted with a sigh and hello at the top floor till. i then had to wait 15 minutes to be seen whilst they were talking in their own language privately. doesn't seem very professional does it? i hope the team improves because i can see many workers are going above and beyond for their job but some team members are letting them down :(

I went into the Cambridge Newmarket road branch today with a sudden flat tire. I was greeted by a very nice man named Richard I think he could see I was a bit upset and drenched from the rain with a flat. I could see they were short staffed but he went above and beyond to fix my bike and was such a nice man answering my questions and chatting to me with a cheery manner. Honestly such a nice chap and lovely customer service. Really appreciated his kindness. Thank you ?

Extremely good experience getting my bike repaired by Halfords in Cambridge. They ended up finding a crack in the frame which is a safety issue. They immediately let me know and didn't charge me anything despite having already done a lot of work on it. Will definitely return there to buy my new bike!

Outstanding service. I came in with a broken bike frame bag: the zip had broken after a year or so but I didn't have the receipt. Luckily I was able to figure out the date I'd bought it, and manager Ryan looked it up on the computer system, found the transaction & gave me a replacement under the 2-year guarantee. Very friendly and helpful, thank you!

Booked in for some repair, someone got the booking schedule messed up - that?s all fine, not upset about a simple mistake. Told me they will do it ASAP the next day, so I added on a tire replacement, a very kind staff offered free fit-in as an apology, I was happy to accept that. Then the next day the other staff just suddenly decide to evoke that offer and didn?t even confirm with their own team member (staff who made that offer). This is just very absurd, if you don?t want to offer an apology then don?t, I didn?t even ask for anything. Don?t offer something as an apology then take it away, it?s like kick in the teeth and horrible customer service for sure.

Bought a child's bike online and included the build and collection from this store. The chain has been getting stuck so I took it to a bike repair shop and they've told me that whoever built it has put the bolt on the wrong way round so the gear is all bent out of shape.Been on hold trying to contact them for twenty minutes and then got cut off with a request to complete their survey on how well they helped me today. Live chat online is useless. I'm paying way more to fix it than the fee to build the bike. I should've done it myself but I thought that it would be best if the 'professionals' did it. I could've got the bike repair shop to build it. That's definitely an idea for the future.On a previous visit to this store, I was told that no baby car seats would fit my car. That the shape of my back seats was somehow incompatible with all baby car seats. Fortunately I wasn't too defeated and went elsewhere and got a car seat fitted.Definitely one to avoid

Be prepared for waiting the entire day for just collecting your bike which was booked 3 weeks in advance and was meant to be ready. They are seriously short staffed, it?s better to have a small store with good service vs a large store with none.Also, the staff was completely unaware of how the bike accessories work - or as a matter of fact they had very limited understanding of the bike too!

Went in for an aircon regas, could have done it myself, but their prices weren't bad, so I thought I'd let them do it. They offered a 10-point car check for free which I accepted in exchange for annoying email marketing and signing up for their membership. Earlier that day, I did my tyre pressure myself because I knew they needed it but had checked and saw that the pressure was 29 front and 26 back, both in the manual and on the sticker by the fuel cap. The guy checked the aircon pressure, and it was at 0... the reason I wanted it regassed. He said he wouldn't gas it for me because there's a chance it's leaking. They seemingly don't want to test if the system is leaking, so I left that there but annoying because, in the end, it wasn't leaking and just needed gas. For the 10-point check, I said the tyre pressure's all good, so just do the rest, he asked what I set it to, and I said 29, 26 as per the manual then he said that's often wrong you should look at the sticker which we did and it showed the reading in kPa, I asked what it converted to and he didn't know but then proceeded not to check the conversion, which btw was 29 and 26, and overfilled the tyres to 32, 30 (a common but incorrect pressure) for no reason. The rest was fine, I look after the car, so it went smoothly; got some free windshield wash out of it but overall not worth it. He had a smile the whole time and was training someone in a pretty good manner, but I was just confused why he decided to do his own thing with the pressure when I had specifically asked him not to. The wait for staff was slow but they did come across well when I spoke to them.

Monday morning, counted 3 staff. Spent 15 mins at the pay desk with another gentleman waiting to pay. No staff around. - I was upstairs looking at brake levers and wanted to ask a question but no one up there.It seems to be pretty common to have it like this with very little in a way of customer service, quite poor really considering the size of the store.
