A nice big store with plenty of choice of books/stationary and a big selection of magazines.

It is what it is and not what it used to be! Shame WHS used to be a nice shop to go in. Lack of staff and same old boring stock will, I feel, eventually kill it off!

Misleading 3 for 2 offer and unsympathetic staff. Ended up getting a better deal at Ryman

Perfectly decent store with a good range of products. However a lot of the stationery such as notebooks, diaries and address books is grouped by design, rather than by type of product. This means if you go in looking for a particular product (e.g. an address book, as I was), you have to look around several places in the store to compare the different options available in the different patterns, which is a bit frustrating. I was slightly dismayed by the range of products available. I did not end up buying an address book in the end, as I could not find one, other than a miniscule one, with an individual section for each letter of the alphabet - all the address books I found seem to have grouped sections of 2-3 letters in one section (i.e. instead of an A section, then a B section, they had an AB section then a CD section, or, worse, an ABC section then a DEF section), which doesn't work for me as it makes it too hard to find people. It would be good if WHSmith offered more of a range of different internal designs on products like address books, rather than just different covers but with the same/similar design inside on them all, recognising that different customers will have different preferences.
