12 of us stayed in one of the lodges for one night, 2 rounds of golf and some 10 pin bowling. Check in was extremely easy, lodge was perfect for our needs, golf course was good, bowling great fun with dinner & staff were excellent, especially Sarah and her team ?

Do not play golf here. Greens and tee boxes are a shambles. Its a real shame as the course layout is great. Not worth £30

We were waiting for 10 min at the bar before 4 you girls would stop talking and ignoring us and finally serve us beer. Not very friendly not polite service. Surely place like that should train their staff to respect their customers, smile, say hello, please and thank you. Just lack of basic manners and respect to customers. Its the shame.

Great location, good selection of beers,, good bar food and friendly staff. Great for non golfersNearby activities: Historic St.ives,Ely and Cambridge are within easy reach and great to visit.

Venue was great. Stayed in a lodge with some nice guys and a couple of absolute wrong?uns.. surprised you had to pay extra each day for the kitchen , unless you knew someone who had a crowbar with them. COURSE: Great layout, terrible tee boxes and greens. They were cutting new holes in the middle of our groups rounds which was strange. FOOD: Food was ok. Lots of choice but some of the meals were average. Service was poor and staff seemed a bit lazy. Drinks were pretty expensive. Could have maybe done a discount of 10% with such a large group staying there. LODGE: they were very hot, some rooms were tiny. Could have done with some bug killers installed. And maybe a dress policy could be applied where men over 50 cannot take their tops off..

The course layout is good but greens and bunkers very very poor and need a lot of work. Also what we found, there was some golfers dressed up in fancy dress, which you don?t expect, one was dressed up as a zoo keeper which we found strange. Just a real shame about the greens and bunkers.

We had an overnight stay here as we were attending a big birthday celebration that was being held in the function room. We enjoyed the use of the pool table and bowling lanes in the afternoon as well as a lovely lunch in the clubhouse before the event and the staff were very good and attentive. We stayed in room 15 which had all the essentials but was a little tired, carpet was ripped in places so could do with a new one or maybe a rug to cover it. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.Nearby activities: Tenpin bowling lanes, Pool Table, Driving Range and Golf course

Stayed in a lodge with a group of golf buddies on a sunday night, two rounds of golf, dinner b&b package. The negative bits.Walnut lodge small bedroom 2, thin walls, tiny bathroom with a strange opening shower door.The shower was perfectic and the hot water came out of the basin tap at a dribble. The pine doors all had 5-10 mm gaps between frame and door letting in light and noise. It was just a one night stay so didn't make a fuss. The golf course had lush fairways, Tee's were in a terrible state, buckers were poor. Greens looked very bad, especially around the holes which in many cases were badly damaged and could not have been moved for ages.However the greens were fast and true. The BEST BITS. Dinner was excellent. Choice, quantity, presentation. Drinks at the bar very reasonable for a hotel. Breakfast buffet was again plentiful, Rachael and the team along with those in the kitchen looked after us brilliantly and made sure we had a super breakfast. Overall a good experience, and good value for money.

Held our Seniors Golf Away Weekend at Lakeside Lodge this year. The food and service were exceptional and the accommodation very comfortable. Our members enjoyed two days' golf in splendid weather. The course is easy walking but has plenty of challenges that demand thoughtful play. As others have noted, the greens really need improvement to avoid letting down what is otherwise a very good venue.

Oddest and least welcoming check in experience of my life. Long complicated path to find reception. Then one encounters two signs, both saying ?Reception?, with arrows pointing in opposite directions. One of them is clearly the reception desk, but the door was entirely locked. On the door is a complex set of instructions to find the ?late arrival box? where my room key might be. But I never managed to find it.At the bottom of the sign is an invitation to ask at the bar if there are any questions. On my first trip to the bar, they had no idea what to do with me other than point me back to the locked reception door.When that proved to be anything but fruitful, I returned to the bar a second time and spoke with someone else. I was told that reception would not open for another hour, but that I could wait at the bar. Good! I was hungry after my journey. Oh, but they have no food available other than crisps and pork scratchings.So I sat down and starved whilst writing this review. This place really doesn?t seem to want their guests to bother them.A hotel reception desk should not be closed in the middle of the afternoon. And if you are going to make people sit and wait to check in, at least have some way to feed them while they wait.

My daughter had her wedding ceremony and reception here on the 8th of July 2023 it was fantastic, Rachel and Amy and all the staff were amazing ,the food was outstanding, I would highly recommend this place keep up the good work 5 stars 10 out of 10 brilliant.

I tried out the Clubhouse restaurant for evening meal and couldn?t stomach the meal with the amount of flies that kept landing in my food. I politely asked the assistant manager for a refund or even a partial refund and he came over and said ?it?s not actually their problem?. Top class customer service! It honestly has to be one of the most vile experiences I?ve ever had at a restaurant. I can safely say that I will never be dining at this facility again!
