I've been buying at Dobbies Peterborough for the last 8.5 years. Unfortunately, quality of customer service has decreased significantly during the last year even thou the staff have not so much.Christmas decor - if you sell glass bulb separately, make sure to provide boxes that would protect those bulbs. Staff have indifferently informed me that I can just throw those bulbs into the metal trolley. Perfect solution, eh?!I won't visit this store ever again!

I enjoy visiting Dobbies for the range of good on sale, to get ideas for seasonal planters and also the indoor plants. I dropped on point as some items are no longer available such as dry coir for indoor plants. I had to purchase a much smaller amount in a pouch and a much inflated price.

Been to this particular Dobbies quite a lot now. Layout and space in this branch is always impressive. Went mainly for Mini Golf. Having previously enjoyed the Roman Empire course, this time went back to the original 12 holes. Although disappointingly you can't go round it twice anymore. When I asked, the staff member thought this could only have been a special offer (if it ever happened). Another gripe, the gents toilet just outside the restaurant is not as clean as it used to be and the smell, ugh!

Havent been for a while and ended up in the cafe which has good food, only thing that spoilt it was when we had sat down, 15 minutes in gets a girl coming over to say to us and another table that this area is for afternoon tea only! OK get that but she then went on to say she will let us sit here on this occasion but in future its only for afternoon tea, Then she repeated it 2 further times! Power trip I thought and mentioned there are only two tables with people at them and two of us were getting this message. Plus the food bill was more than if we had an afternoon tea along with the place wasn't exactly anything special. See pics. As we left there was a damp and grubby a4 sheet of paper on a lecturn facing towards the wall that stated afternoon teas. Nothing to say the area was been policed like area54. Shame really. Spoke to manager on the way out and he didn't have his ears turned on either as he also said that area may be large and empty but people shouldnt sit there unless you want a tray of cakes. It was in the afternoon so with it being so empty, maybe a nicer approach would be advisable.

Booked our afternoon tea the week before, all seemed good and professional including noting dietary requirements On arrival we were shown to a table. The position of the table was lovely. We we?re not asked who we were or what our dietary requirements were, Just what we wanted to drink When the rack arrived we asked if our dietary needs had been adhered to but she didn?t know, I had to open the sandwich to check That was the last we saw of our waitress, There was no courtesy check and we were not offered any more tea Considering the cost of afternoon tea the attentiveness was lacking. There was another family of six who actually went to find the waitress and even then she still didn?t see if we were ok so we got up and left As this was a birthday present from my sister I was quite disappointed and very underwhelmed

Very clean and helpful staff. Restaurant is very good value. Vast range of stock catering for everybody's needs. The new 18 hole mini golf course is absolutely brilliant and must be given a try

I really hope today is ?just one of those days?? because Dobbies Peterborough it was a poor show! The plant section outside was the worst it?s ever looked & what garden ornaments there were, were either broken or massively overpriced!Went to the cafe - coffee was nice but the tea cake was like chewing a bullet & the breakfast roll had seen better days!Staff? there seems to have been a turnover in staff and it doesn?t seem to be for the better - miserable at every turn! What was a regular visit for us, is going to end up a complete no go!

The garden centre is fine but restaurant is a complete joke. We visited midmorning and the restaurant was busy with some late breakfasters, I just had a bacon roll and it was truly awful, it was like pieces of floor tile stuffed into a day old burger bap. In fact a floor tile bap would have probably tasted better. The beverage bar was amazingly poor, how is it that a cup of coffee now takes 4 minutes to make! Add that time to a queue and it can take 10 minutes to get some food and a drink meaning you pay a lot for cold breakfast and not great coffee.Go there for gardening needs but go elsewhere for a stress free food experience.

We visited on a Saturday morning and decided to have a coffee and scone. The queue for coffees was long, then the queue to pay even longer, 16 people! People in the queue were complaining their food would be getting cold. There was only one poor lad on the till who did look stressed! One family in the queue was just trying to check their child into the play area, which seems bad organisation. Then, after our long wait, the cheese scones we had were bland. A little cheese was sprinkled on top but none inside! We've had them here before and they were much better. Cut backs I suppose.

Particularly well-managed garden centre coffee shop and restaurant. Nciely laid out food, attentive staff, spacious, comfortable seating, decent siuzed tables. We loved it. But especially the management, well done whoever you are.

Dobbies is a great garden centre in the Hampton region of Peterborough. It is a large store with a wide range of goods for all your plant needs. They also stock items for your pets as well. In addition there are subsidiary companies including Maidenhead Aquatics, Hampton Butchers and the recently opened Waitrose which has taken over the space vacated by Sainsbury's.There is a large and very popular cafe with a good range of meals, cakes, snacks and drinks. There is a play area for children and an outdoor Roman themed crazy golf course. Toilets are well maintained.Dobbies often put events on especially for children to pique their interest in gardening and help to create a new generation of plant lovers and carers for the environment. There is a large carpark with generous spaces for families and disabled drivers. In the car park is a branch of We Buy Any Car.I find it a lovely place to visit.

A very nice garden center. Not too pricey. It has a mini JS that sells essentials. It now has two mini golf courses, resonable priced as well. The Cafe is nice and has a good variety of food & drinks at a good price.Overall always nice popping into Dobbies.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea must say I was so impressed. The chef looked after us so well. The chef was amazing. Came over and told us all about the cakes and the afternoon tea I would definitely go again.

Dobbies is ok but having to queue for your food and then get in another queue for your beverage is off putting s the meal is cold before you get to sit down. Consequently we only have light snacks and drinks. Their fruit scones were very good on 5/6/23.
