Wonderful service from delightful, caring staff (especially Rosemary Cowper MRCVS and her regular VN) at Saffron Walden clinic.

I brought my dog in here to check for his increased breathing rate and one brief episode of lethargy. Because of my dog?s history of heart disease I was worried that he might be suffering from pulmonary edema which caused his faster breathing rate. At the visit , I requested chest x ray to check for the fluid in the lung but was told that there?s no X-ray for large dog at the clinic, which is fine for me. The vet also palpated my dog?s abdomen and explained she was trying to feel if there?s any fluid in there. She then suggested a abdominal ultrasound to check if there?s any fluid in the belly and I agreed. I was present at the ultrasound and she pointed out various organs including bladder to me while imaging then the conclusion was no fluid in the belly either. This visit costed me about £138 including about £90 of ultrasound fee. My dog?s condition continues to decline so I brought him back to cardiologist at queen?s veterinary school to have his heart rechecked after a week. He had his heart scanned and ECG checked and his heart was stable. However , the cardiologist told me he can palpate mass in his abdomen which he suspected to be tumour and booked us in to have a detailed abdominal ultrasound scan and x ray scan. After thorough examination and sampling the biopsy, my dog was diagnosed with bladder cancer metastasised to the lung and lymph nodes. On the report, it states a mass of about 5cm can be seen on the ultrasound in the bladder !!!!!!!!!!!! And there?s moderate amount of fluid in the abdomen!!!!!!!! I feel so furious with saffron Walden veterinary clinic as they charged me for an ultrasound but apparently the vet was incompetent and incapable of reading the imaging results and to see there was a big tumour there ! Very Unprofessional vet, clearly has no idea what she is doing . I would strongly recommend to avoid this vet ! The vet and the reception were friendly though.

Very knowledgeable vet and veterinary nurse with a good manner for a nervous animal and they had plenty of time to explain the treatment.
