Started poor finished excellent. Booked a table for 17 on Mother?s Day and they said no problem. Arrived and we were seated on 2 separate tables. A bit awkward but The chap said well that?s how it is and you wouldn?t get seated anywhere else on a Sunday. Not the way to speak to a customer really.Anyway we rejigged the room about and eventually got the 17 together. 14 had the carvery and it was lovely and the other 3 had vegetarian meals that were equally impressive in both taste and portion size. So it ended on a high after a shaky start. If they didn?t or couldn?t seat 17 people together then don?t take the booking in the future. Booked a month in advance and paid a deposit so they knew we were coming

Popped in to catch up with a mate. Had the breakfast deal. Forgot to take some pics but can say the food was good all freshly cooked, scrambled eggs was spot on. Will be returning again soon, worth the 90-mile round trip.

Good food. Friendly people. Good choice. We had small roast, cod and chips, chicken burger, jacket potato and prawns.

Really good food and a great atmosphere too. Some quiet music playing in the background and good lighting. The food came fast and the servers were really friendly too. Lots of drink choices.

Some food was ok but a small carvery to come on a side plate was a joke for the money very expensive for such a small portion all round when 10 minutes up the road can get a much better meal will not come

Gee, this place is well worth travelling 45 minutes each way for. The atmosphere is always perfect because there is a complete spectrum of different ambiences available due to its size. The menu is all good, some very good and the sweets are amazing too. Great choice of drink with a nice bar. The service is extremely good which you?d expect from a good family business. We?ve been to several wakes there to which were a ball. Carverys are an absolute bargain. I qualified for catering and hotel management so I feel justified in my praise. Very easy to get to with very ample bargain to boot.

Absolute disgrace, I'd rather eat the tyres off of a plane. Carrots were so raw I may aswell have picked them out the ground myself. Don't even get me started on the potatoes, brought tears to my eyes. Had to use a chisel to eat my broccoli. I only went in there for a fry up and he sold me a false dream of a roast dinner, if that's what you can call it

Sadly dissapointed, been before always been ok for the price , today poor Turkey was so thin it obviously came out of a packet, veg was not cooked and roast potatoes probably yesterdays warmed up, pub was cold and atmosphere poor for Christmas.

Thanks to Arthur and the team for hosting my Mum's Wake this week. As always excellent service and food by Arthur and his friendly team, nothing was too much trouble. We were all looked after very well, thoroughly recommend, thank you very much.

Went with a big group of people. Preordered a halal or vegetarian meal no order was ready, not a big deal. However when asked about Halal options said only the turkey was halal but used the same carving knife to cut all the meat resulting in cross-contamination! Most certainly not halal nor acceptable!
