CarpetRight first came into existence in Canning Town, London. Started by Lord Harris of Peckham, it become a fast success and within half a decade, it was a company listed on the London Stock Exchange. After benefiting from a period of organic growth, the corporate management at CarpetRight pursued an aggressive acquisition strategy, buying many Carpetland and Allied Carpet stores in 1999, as well as venturing onto mainland Europe through acquisitions in 2002. Today, CarpetRight has 470 stores across Europe, employing over 3000 people. It continues to succeed by offering an extensive range of houseware, from carpets, laminate flooring, rugs and even beds and mattresses.
