I went to WHSmiths today to see if the post office was open, 2 polite staff members called finley and maxwell told me it was shut on sundays.Thank you very much, will be visting again when the post office is open.

Love W H Smith.Don't ever close.Beautiful cards but a little pricey.Need to be more like Clintons on price range.Lots of good interesting books, and they used to have a nice cafe upstairs.

Great amount of stock at good prices but extremely dingey and lifeless, especially at the bottom section of the shop.Main plus is the lady called Sophie, who works behind the till and was very kind to my eldest. She gets 5 stars ?????

Very misleading/confusing what the prices actually are. We got some Christmas stock for 10p and went to the baskets full of reduced bits and asked one of the staff members how much the stuff in them were and he told us 10p. We spent a good half hour, if not more, going through them and ended up with a really heavy basket and tons of stuff. When we scanned something on the self checkout it wasn't actually 10p so we went to the till and he told us none of it was 10p except the Christmas stuff. Wasted a while in here (bearing in mind we came in the car too and had a car park time limit so were unable to go the other shops we had planned to), just to end up not buying the majority of our basket. Some of the prices would probably have been cheap enough but seeing as it would take forever to scan them all and then take off ones we didn't want we just said no to all of them. Might be an idea to actually list prices on stuff and educate staff on the prices too.

Just been to the Post Office section to sort out a new Driving Licence....I was served by Sophie who was so helpful & kind. There was another lady too but never got her name.... Such lovely staff...thank you ladies.

A large and well stocked W H Smith located in a beautiful black and white Tudor style building close to the Eastgate Clock. There are escalators between all three floors and a glass lift in the centre of the shop. Some good quality Christmas cards among the big selection of cards on the ground floor, along with gifts, stationery, art supplies, magazines and sweets. The books are upstairs, some good titles and there's a wide choice of travel guides and some lovely jigsaw puzzles. Plenty of bargains to be found among the clearance stock in the basement. The main post office is here and there's also a photo booth. Bought a really good travel guide here. There only appeared to be tills on the ground floor but the cashier who served me was both friendly and helpful and service was quick.

Usual whsmith, less choice of travel books than previously but still good options. Great choice of cards for every occasions, and all current bestsellers.
