Avoid at all costs. I filled up on the 22nd December, and went in to pay for fuel. I tapped my card, and the cashier provided me with a receipt and told me to have a good day!I walked back out to my car, sat eating a packet of crisp and then drove off. About an hour later I was putting the receipt away into my wallet and noticed it didn?t match my transaction, but thought nothing of this and believed I?d just been handed the wrong receipt.Fast forward one month later and I receive a notice from VARS regarding a drive off from this petrol station for non-payment of £15. I of course immediately checked my statement and discovered no payment had been taken (something I of course wasn?t aware of at the time given the fact the cashier provided me with a receipt and told me to have a good day making me believe payment was successful). As soon as I discovered this, I contacted the garage to apologise and look to make payment in the hopes to avoid the drive off fine, but they took no interest in wanting to assist with this nor apologise for the confusion/ mistake made by their cashier that led to this happening in the first place!Furthermore they made excuses that the cashier had attempted to inform me of non payment, however this 100% did not happen and if it had of done I would have returned and made payment immediately before leaving the shop.

Scenes from Little Britain in Helsby Shell Garage today. Matt Lucas couldn't have done better.A large black man pulls up with a van full of people with learning disabilities and the petrified cashier only lets him get £50 worth of fuel because deep down she is an appalling human being."He looked dodgy" was her justification to his uniformed colleague who went in to pay with the company fuel card and left in stunned bewilderment.Do Shell Employees even have that right? Are there policies, training and guidelines around this? Perhaps a scale of dodginess to be adhered to? Are the words "big" and "black" on that list? As this is what he was unfairly judged by!It seems more likely that the disgusting actions of one individual put Shell into disrepute today. Perhaps some anti-discriminatory practice training would stop this unprofessional behaviour in the future.

Stopped to fill up the works van when at £50 it suddenly stopped. Thinking maybe they had run out of fuel I sent my work colleague to pay and I said inform them the fuels has suddenly stopped. After paying he came back to inform me it was turned off because I quote "He looked dodgie". I love the fact that being a larger guy and black means I look dodgie. ??Just to let you know I work for a company that works with adults and children with learning disabilities and i had a full vehicle with them in and was filling up so i can get them safely home. So thank you for the negative judgement I feel amazing for that and potentially putting disabled people at risk as I have a long journey ahead.

Nice staff. Wanted to pay by phone in car due to covid, but this was the second visit where it wasn't working and I had to go into the shop to pay
