We stopped in at The Sandstone on Sunday evening after an event at Bolesworth Castle. We had a warm welcome from the landlady and it was a cosy atmosphere in the pub. We all had roast dinners which were lovely, plenty of food and all extremely tasty. The vegetarian option was also really good. They even offered a different meal option for our 4 year old daughter as she doesn't really like a roast dinner. Thanks for a very nice end to our day, we'd definitely visit again ??

We had several bad experiences with other pubs in the area, phoned and they had everything ready for us on arrival. Really friendly and great service.Food was nice and tasty.Highly recommended.

The Sandstone black pudding stack is a must!! Fantastic friendly owner who chatted to us for ages. The service was very rapid, the food excellent and we found out that we could have parked our camper van on their car park overnight. We cannot recommend this place enough. Ideal base for the Sandstone trail within walking distance. Just returned from a week at kitty's view lodges up the road and we visited 3 times over the week,The pub has recently re opened after a spell closed.The landlady was really friendly and welcoming. We had 3 meals here including Sunday lunch and honestly enjoyed every meal we had. The portions were large and the prices very reasonable all washed down with some decent ale. The pub is Dog Friendly which was a must for us as we had our very excitable Labrador with us. Keep up the good work!

Was camping nearby and thought we'd pop in, with the dog and the girls for a cheeky pint. What lovely hosts. Looked beautiful, didn't eat but the beer was lovely and the attentive, friendly service was very welcome. Lovely pub and the menu looked brilliant.

The sandstone has just been re-opened after few years by new owners. The place looks smart but little sparce of decorations, hence the drop of one star but the new owners are very friendly and welcoming and will build on there good start to ownership. Full range of drinks, including real ales. Serves good quality food. Large car park to the rear. We sat in the garden and was visited by a friendly cat.Parking: Parking at the rear of the pub

Trish opened the pub for food for us after our walk around the sandstone trail yesterday. We rang in advance not realising they?re normally closed on a Monday - she?s happy to open for a group if she knows in advance so worth giving them a ring if your planning on going in a group.The place is lovely and clean - the staff are all friendly and the food was absolutely delicious couldn?t recommend enough! 10/10
