Think this place invents MOT advisories - had four on my MOT in 2023 and all of them have miraculously disappeared in 2024 despite me not doing anything about them.

I have just had my air conditioning system repaired and re gassed by Ashcroft Auto centre, they managed to fit me in at short notice and obtain the replacement pipe then fit it and re gass the system all at short notice. I am very very pleased and would definitely recommend them. Excellent service from a local garage.

Ashcroft Autos have been my go-to garage for more than 10 years. I trust them completely to carry out routine MOTs and services on my vehicle, and they have also come to the rescue on many occasions when my old, secondhand car - a Chevrolet Matiz - has broken down. The team have been kind and calming when I have felt stressed; explained repairs to me in a way I can understand; and gone the extra mile to source spare parts that are no longer available through dealerships. They even helped me to successfully pursue a complaint against a car manufacturer when my clutch sheared off completely due to a fault in production. I am very, very grateful to the whole team.

First time using this garage, they replaced my cambelt and water pump plus oil pick up seal on my insignia. Very friendly and professional, and my car actually felt smoother when I picked it up. I'll definitely be using them again. ?

My car was booked in for a MOT , the only thing I would say is that the mechanic?s working there should of some consideration for people?s cars because they don?t cover up the seats or where gloves. Other than that I was happy with the service.

Had 3 cars down there. First car they did a decent job on in good time.2nd car, new turbo fitted but the DPF came back still blocked (just had the code turned off), 15 miles down the road it comes back on. Burning huge amounts of oil because the guy who changed the turbo made such a mess it all flowed into the dpf which then can not regenerate. When I got this car back after 8 weeks, one of the rear lights was cracked & a crack in the bumper. Also quoted me £850 for the job and charged £1460 when I collected it. New light assembly was another £80 (fitted myself) & bumper repair quote was £250 that I also ended up doing myself. Sorted the DPF out myself which basically involved undoing all the work they did to take off the DPF to get all that oil cleaned up. If I can watch YouTube videos & do it myself in 2 days, how did it take an actual garage 8 weeks & a terrible job done also??? Massive waste of time & chunk of money!3rd car was down there for 11 weeks. 1st thing I did was check for damage given the previous car. Would you know it, Dent in the back bumper & scuff in the paint. Same corner as the other car. The actual work (another new turbo) does seem to actually have been done well this time to be fair. But 11 weeks at the garage, when i probablycould of done it myself in 2 days maximum & coming back with bodywork damage is unacceptable. It's probably alright if you're having minor work like an MOT. Bigger jobs, just go somewhere else, or learn how to do it yourself (mechanics not that hard really). If you do use this garage, make sure you get them to sign a vehicle bodywork condition report BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

My dad recommended Ashcroft after I incurred issue's with previous garages. I can't recommended Darren & Geoff in any higher regard. True gentleman, and an absolute pleasure to communicate with. If you're looking for a garage, with vast BMW knowledge, who arnt looking to rip you off, look no further. Thanks again Ashcroft,Jono

Car went in with a cylinder head Gasket gone. It sat about 5 weeks in their yard, unlocked, bonnet open. The yard has no gate. They fixed it. It seem pretty heavy on fuel, someone hit the old cylinder-head & valves with a hammer. When they reported it needed a new head, I asked for the previous one, they replied it had been 'sent away'.When we wanted to retrieve it, the work & MOT was completed but the girl used no MOT as the reason for the delay.I think she needed time to work in the costs of R the vandalised eplacement valves, etc, onto the legitimate parts they did need to buy.The MOT had spurious 'advisorys" such as 4x for the rust on the discs (it hadn't been used for a while) and one for an 'exhaust leak' ( The car lasted a few journeys before a joint on the exhaust went). They snipped the retainer on the fuel cap, swapped the alloys or the wheel-nut covers? (they had an exact same model in the yard that last week) and they over-filled it with oil.Car works but engine sounds rattley & drips oil everywhere and uses water which was the symptom of the previous head-gasket going. £1700
