I previously purchased a carbon steel non-stick baking tray from M&S. However, I have encountered an issue where the coating on the tray is peeling off after using it.Upon visiting the Handforth Dean store, I was informed by your staff that I am unable to receive a refund as it is considered wear and tear. This is quite perplexing to me, as I believe this is a quality problem. How is it possible for the coating to peel off after only a few uses? I must say, I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received and it has made me reconsider future purchases from M&S.In an email from the M&S customer service team, it was stated that there is no time limit for returning the item, so I was not concerned about the delay in visiting the store. However, upon my visit, your staff informed me that it was purchased too long ago and therefore, I am not eligible for a refund.The M&S customer service team assured me that I would be able to receive a refund, but unfortunately, your staff at the checkout counter denied my request. This has been a complete waste of my time. I would like to lodge a complaint against the unprofessional service provided by the checkout counter staff at the Handforth Dean store. This level of service is completely unacceptable, especially considering M&S's reputation for quality and service. I am truly disappointed with the lack of staff training and the unprofessional service I have encountered. This kind of service is extremely unacceptable for a company like M&S.

Excellent quality food, but the new store design at Handforth Dean is terrible. There is no flow to the lay out and constantly having to ask where a product is. You have fruit at the beginning, easy to see and pick with the bread ,into salad items and then back to Vegatables on shelves! The bread I used to buy is not available as apparently there isn?t enough space.Also when will M & S learn that it shoppers do not want use the self- service tills and crew the staff tills accordingly ( the older generation would prefer the manned tills). Again yesterday, 4-5 people waiting at the food tills, while 3 staff standing near the tills just watching the queue. Have asked for the Manager on 2 separate occasions for the same issue. People are paying for a better shopping experience at M & S and yet the service is poor.

Carole in the Food Court was so polite, helpful, no judgement, happy to oblige. Did not just point like the rest, actually went with me and assisted me to the end, completely closed the transaction. Went above and beyond. Built a rapport from start to end. Normally you come to this Mand S and they just point whilst chewing their gum, on their personal phones, distracted however I was so pleasantly surprised. I have to add it did make a difference dealing with a mature lady like myself rather than some millennials who sometimes come across like they don?t care, cannot be bothered. Thank you Carole for your excellent customer service. I felt good leaving the store as opposed to disappointed.

Rude checkout counter staff. I brought the coating peel off baking tray for refund and they said it is wear and tear. Obviously it is a quality problem. The staff are unprofessional and rude.

If I could review without a star I would. Beyond pathetic. On screen ordering like macdonalds and such a limited menu, all carbs and no proper vegetables! Come on m and s this is really letting you down. GARBAGE

Really disappointing. All the food is pre packaged,no deli or butchery counters. Range of products no greater than local M&S.

Visited the refurbished cafe in Handforth Dean today. After a long wait our food. Arrived after we had finished our meal we had to wait another 10 minutes for our drinks. Staff or manager not interested. They need staff who know how to operate the new system.

The food products are usually well worth the money but this year the party food isn't up to scratch. Aldi's party food is much tastier.

I was in your store yesterday and brought back an item of clothing.I paid for this with cash and had a gift receipt but received a Gift Voucher back. I asked if this was correct and I was told yes I have only been here 6 months!!It was very busy with 4 tills and more self service tills.Also if you buy on line you cannot get a gift receipt, is this correct.Therefore I will be very caution in what I buy in future

The store is one of the best I?ve been to for choice and service unfortunately though the cafe lets it down. After going full McDonaldsish self service with touch screen ordering you?d think the people cooking and serving would be on par!!! Alas this is not the case, the food arrived stone cold which was strange as it was all microwaved before service . I will think twice before using this cage again

First visit since refit. Choice of food was good but didn?t want to stay long because the store was unpleasantly cold even in the clothing sections. I feel sorry for the staff that work there. The increased emphasis on self checkout does not improve the experience.

I went today, it will be a long time before I go again.Firstly I went to collect two large orders. No desk, just screens. It told me to wait and after a few minutes I heard my name being yelled. I made my way towards the voice and as soon as he saw me he dropped all four parcels on the floor. Good job my hubby was nearby, as I am not able to lift off the floor.The newly refurbished foodhall is a nightmare. Narrow aisles, people squeezing past each other and getting bumped. It was freezing cold all over the store, so I was chilled to the bone and to add insult to injury there are only four checkouts with humans, only two of which were working.Dozens of self checkout.Disappointed.

Tried to exchange some children?s pyjamas that were given as a gift for a new size. Didn?t have receipt, and lady on the till told me the ones I had brought back had never been through the till or paid for when she scanned them. She said she wasn?t accusing me (or the gift giver) of stealing, but they had not been paid for. Wouldn?t exchange them, and certainly made me feel like I?d done something wrong with her ?accusation?, and a queue full of people watching. She said it would have been easily done at the self service till! Certainly sounded like an accusation, and at best it was uncomfortable. Given that she let me leave again with my original ?stolen? goods, I?m not sure what the harm would have been in actually exchanging them for the right size - result would have been the same, yet you?d have had a happier customer ????. Policy over practicality.

I came to the cafe with my disabled mother who is visually impaired and has a wheelchair. What a nightmare for her trying to see the on screen system ? not at all disabled friendly !Waited ages for the coffee when we finally managed to complete our order. Most of the demographic is elderly or over 50 in M&S cafe looking around and this system is not consumer friendly ! Very disappointing. Why not have a till open for disabled people and people unable to negotiate the screen system ? give people a choice !Won?t be coming again ?
