Found this place on Google maps.Hours stated as open, but we even called just to check. Their answer phone message states something like "can't take your call but go to the website to book a table " so assumed open.40 mins drive and arrived to find it firmly shut and had obviously been shut for a while.Somewhat surprised that they can't change their message to stop wasting peoples time.

We went last night, it was freezing cold, and had to keep our coats on, a beautiful log fire with all the logs there, but 2 candles lit in it!!!!!I had fish and chips, hake, when ask for tartare sauce!was told they didn't have any!!!!5minutes later the young waitress came back to say the chief was going to make me some!!!,won't be back

This is a difficult review to write as the evening including the food,service and atmosphere were all very nice.The one issue I have is mostly around the menu (which I know is new...). We had the blue cheese olives, the chicken tenders and the beef cheeks to start which were all gourmet and well presented. However, the mains consist of two burgers, two meat dishes (pork and steak) one curry and one pasta.... I really believe with the quality of the starters there should be more interesting options for mains, seems a waste! The deserts were also good... Just some food for thought, be a bit more adventurous!

This is our second visit to The Fox's revenge, as I usually try and give a place a couple of tries before leaving a review.Food is amazing, the blend of flavours and the size of the dishes are perfect, I've always left full and having enjoyed myself.However, the wait times are massive. We arrived for our table at 7pm, we had drinks starters and mains, and our mains was arriving at our table at 8:30pm, and that's not because we took ages with our starters. The wait between ordering and each course arriving just takes ages.We were sat in the back room both times, and though nice for a private party, it doesn't have much of the atmosphere of a restaurant, and because it's tucked away I believe this is why the service we received was mixed. The waitress was very polite and professional when serving us, we just felt like we were left alone to wonder where our food was.

We?ve been to Fox?s Revenge many times but went last night for an anniversary meal and to try out the new menu! All the girls that served us were so attentive. The cocktails were incredible. The food was, as always, amazing. The crispy blue cheese olives - if you know, you know. We tried out the burgers and the chicken burger was, without a doubt, the best burger we?ve ever had! I can?t recommend Fox?s Revenge enough.
