There is now an exhibition you can walk round which explains how the gold is acquired and has costumes you can put on for photographs. The workshop is still there where you can see the jewellery being made or get something of yours cleaned or repaired. This is the only place I know anywhere that still sells gold and silver plated chains by the inch. You can also walk through the tin streaming museum which shows how it was all done 100 and more years ago also free of charge. Finally there is The Pantry which serves a wonderful cooked breakfast served on a miners shovel as well as tea, coffee, pasties and pastries. Highly recommend it.”
