Local produce store great, cafe food okay, BUT cafe staff not very helpful or truthful. We'd planned to have have breakfast at The Lost Gardens of Heligan cafe/restaurant (their menu looked great and they opened at 9am) before visiting the gardens (which opened at 10am) on Wed 19th July while on a 2-month tour from NZ in 2023. As we had a full day of driving we'd planned the timing to fit, gotten up early and were the 1st car in the carpark. Not being locals we were unsure of the cafe and its whereabouts so spoke to a staff member in the kitchen of Lobbs Farm through the window (as they didn't open until 9:30am) and asked if there were any cafes in the vicinity that opened earlier - she said NO, we'd have to go back into town or wait 30 minutes for the Lobb Farm cafe to open. We believed her, waited an extra 30 minutes for their cafe to open, ordered from their very limited menu and were upset to notice the Heligan Garden cafe/restaurant and its generous menu options only on entering the gardens nearby. That Lobbs Farm shop staff member, perhaps the same rude one others referred to about the same time, should be ashamed as her information left only a very bitter taste in our mouths!

Farm shop so plenty of produce with meat and fish counters. Pies and ready to cook. Good selection of local gins and mead as well. The usual candles and other souvenirs. It's worth a visit if in the area.

What a shop this is, immaculate presentation ....particularly the meat section. We only popped in for a sandwich on the way in to the Gardens of Heligan. Nice staff and all were chatting to customers smiling and happy ....Great shop.

Extremely rude woman working there. I can't say her name on here but D**n was so very rude. Slamming plates down on people's tables, speaking to people like children, scowl on her face the entire time, telling people off. Just RUDE. Our experience at Heligam was ruined before we even started

Generally high-end produce, which is unfortunate for locals because we can't afford most of it! Furthermore, according to my mother, they used to serve gammon on the bone, which is no longer available for some reason. Plus, I wanted to buy some cheese but I wanted to try it first; apparently, tasters are not permitted; I suppose that's the minority spoiling it for the majority. It's too bad because I would have bought some cheese otherwise.

The lady at the cafe was so rude to myself and my friend, we are 30 but treated like children! After politely asking to use the loo (and being told yes by a member of staff) another lady proceeded to berate my friend for not buying anything but using the loo! We had not only asked, but also would definitely have used the cafe after had she not been so so rude! I didn't go the the farm shop after as I was so put off, so can't recommend. I NEVER leave bad reviews, but was really upset at being treated like that.
