We arrived at 8pm and waiting at reception to be seen along with another person who gave up after 10 minutes wait but we were unable to give up as we needed a room key. We called out to ask if anyone was in a back office and a chef came out to find someone.

Over impressed with the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. We only stayed for one night and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was like new, very clean and fresh. My only grip would be we had to wait for some aspects of the breakfast to arrive, the scrambled eggs had ran out and it took a while to replenish . Other than that it?s a very nice hotel and I didn?t think I?d ever say that about a travelodge?5 stars from me?.

Although this Travelodge has recently been renovated no consideration was given to room ventilation or air conditioning. Our room was stifling and airless. Our dilemma was whether we opened the small (and externally filthy) window to the never ending drone from the A390 passing outside our window or make use of the two desktop fans provided which were noisy and only moved the hot air about. Neither option helped. The bed was as firm as a brick and needless to say we didn?t have a restful stay. The room otherwise was clean and adequate with a TV, and the bathroom was new and clean with a good shower into the bath. Worryingly, the access door to each floor was kept open giving access to anyone off the street (despite us closing ours each time). The limitless breakfast is something I personally would not recommend due to the quality of food and no option of a fried or poached egg with the cooked breakfast, just scrambled. Niles bakery is across the car park and offers 2 full Englishes for £16. The hotel shares a site with Macdonalds drive through and KFC as well as Costa, so very busy with parking. On a positive note, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

No problem with the rooms decent beds, bathroom and all clean, however the heat in the bedrooms was ridiculous even though the temperature ouside was cool. Happy with everything except the temperatures in the rooms and a couple of fans will never work. Hot and bothered Manc.

It was boiling hot inside my room, and I could not open the windows because there was a wasps nest outside. 3 wasps had already come in and stung me. I brought this up with the reception, they gave me a fly killer spray, which did nothing to kill them. I had to spend hours trying to kill them manually since they didn't offer to help or give a different room. After finally killing the wasps, I had to sleep in the boiling hot room with a tiny fan that only circulated hot air. The reception did not care or offer anything since I had bought the 'saver rate' and therefore it was nonrefundable and I was screwed. I understand it being nonrefundable if I change dates or didn't want to stay, but I literally COULD NOT STAY. It was basically unlivably hot in that room.

Avoid rooms at the front of this hotel especially in hot weather. The external noise levels were quite high due to the proximity of KFC and McDonalds and a busy road. The shops under the hotel also created some noise.

Stayed here for two nights , brilliant location and the hotel itself was ok and friendly staff, we actually extended our stay but decided to try another Travelodge due to how poorly we sleep due to the heat , we were on the top floor and although we were given two fans one didnt work and the other felt like it did nothing at all! Its such a shame as it ruined our time at this Travelodge however can understand this cant be helped its just unfortunate we stayed in the middle of a heatwave in cornwall this hotel would be so much better with air con , room was clean minus the window ledge on the outside as due to it being so hot i spent a lot of time by the window you could tell that hasnt been cleaned in a long time.

Nice location, staff were friendly. The room was nice & clean as was the hotel. It has been decorated since my last visit so was great. It is a good base to see the rest of Cornwall so had many day trips.

I was pleased that there was a bath in the bathroom although I didn?t get to use it. The room was Travelodge standard: roomy, fairly airy although in the hot weather I did have to crack open both of two fans (?) and the bed was large and comfortable.

The room felt dirty, dirty tissues under bed and under desk. Hairs in sink. Looked like someone had shaved and the hairs not washed away. Hole in wall. Carpet looked like not cleaned. Room was over 35 degrees c. Window would only open a little amount. Ended up taking 3 year old and 10 year old to sleep in car in carpark. Very noisy outside because cars coming and going to tesco metro 24hr below. Room stunk of smoke because people smoking below. Breakfast was terrible. Coffee had run out. Had to ask at reception for coffee cups. Orange ran out. Apple juice ran out and was in warm jug on side. Beans ran out. Dirty plates on all of tables. I will not stay at a travelodge again after this experience. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

We've had a lovely 3 day stay. We even partook of the breakfast one morning and was quite impressed! The car park is tight and busy with multiple businesses on site. But we have always been able to find a space. Very friendly staff. Great central location to local attractions.

I have had a good time and loved England, this travellodge would not extend my credit and I'm was very disappointed and would not recommend it as a place e to stay Renato Australia

Everything was as you would expect from a budget hotel. However the reception, bar and kitchen was grossly under staffed. As a consequence the staff were constantly under pressure and the waiting time to be attended to was unacceptable. It advertises free WiFi but only the first 30mins, then you have to pay a daily rate

We stayed at St Austell Travelodge for a last minute short break.By far, the best hotel stay we have ever experienced and this was all due to the outstanding customer service.Staff were very accommodating and friendly. No ask was too much. They were wonderful with our dog, he absolutely loved all the fuss and free food! They were also great with our fussy toddler. We were made to feel very welcome and would certainly look to come back here in the near future. The room was well equipped, clean and tidy and worked well for us on our short break. Food was offered within the hotel as well as several food options within a short distance of the room.Special shout out to Sammy, Cath, Andy and Michelle (not forgetting all the other lovely staff) thank you very much for making our stay special

Usual travel lodge experienceClean rooms, friendly staff etcMy only (sort of ) complaint would be if you don't like noise ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Because its a busy area and the double glazing isn't up to keeping it out
