Had an event here, but this is located among beautiful scenery. Loved the view from the cafe. Looking forward to visit the gallery next time

Excellent value with a locals pass.Lose yourself amongst the artwork and travel the world through art.Art work has useful and informative descriptions with staff on hand to help explain and interpret the exhibits.Don't forget to visit the cafe not only a good section of foods but an amazing view over St Ives too.

We visited the Casablanca School exhibition today, which was fantastic and really interesting. What stood out was the brilliant support for my mum, who has recently started to need a wheelchair. Paul went above and beyond to facilitate our visit, from organising parking to helping us through the gallery and renewing passes. He was so helpful, thoughtful, and kind, which was really appreciated.

Exhibitions change on a regular basis. Places to sit and observe art work. We were thrilled see two pieces of art from artists on Fake or Fortune a Frink and a Gorky. After your visit go to the top for coffee or lunch and admire St Ives over the roof tops, magical.

First time visiting Tate St Ives whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Our children loved the sketchbooks and free pencils - this certainly kept them busy whilst working through the gallery spaces. We loved the view from the top over to the beach.Compared to Tate Modern London (our nearest and usual place visit) it felt much smaller and required far less time to navigate. It was still a good experience, but it is free in London and costs us both as adults to enter.

I wanted to go here for a few years, although it has a few famous artists, for me personally the art was what I would class as modern, just paint on canvas splattered on, a 5 yr old can do better, I have see art galleries before and artists on Facebook that are far more impressive, maybe, just an idea the young artists should have some of their work shown, as some of them can actually draw and paint in my humble opinion, sorry I just don't get modern art if that's what this is called, the price is far too much, £10.50 each, I felt like asking for my money back and after this visit I will not go to any more art galleries or such like, the ladies toilet's are clean, but no cubicle in the gents. Disabled toilet and a lifts available. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Love the museum, but you can also visit the cafe without paying admission and have stunning views over the beach.

The Tate St Ives, a beautiful building of curves, glass, mirrors and terraces, overlooks Porthmeor Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The gallery has a laid back vibe, full of shifting light and shadows, so perfect for a morning or afternoon immersion in art and the environment. It exhibits several works by Lanyon. The Tate St Ives also manages the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, a short walk from the gallery. The gallery also houses a cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. The Tate St Ives is worth a visit just to look at the sea and benefit from moments of calm to refresh and renew the spirit.

Not really a fan of ?Art? but the daughter is! Been to St Ives for many years and never been here, thought we?d give it it a go!Kids up to 18 are free which I think is really good, 2 x adults £21 which was great value given the best view of Porthmeor I?ve ever seen is from the Cafe!I am cultured (I think) even though I?m a northerner and some of the best pieces of art I?ve photographed and listed on this review.Well worth a visit.

A scenic and calm space to enjoy modern art on your day out in St Ives. It's a chill distraction from the busy tourist magnet that is the town, but also an enjoyable building to explore and absorb the various galleries of work by many different local and global artists.Booking is easy to do online and is recommended to be done in advance. Once you're inside, it's a typical contemporary white-walled setting which can be perceived as being sterile but it works fine here. There were plenty of colourful paintings and displays that were mostly abstract or themed based on certain ideals and subject matter, such as modern spirituality and regional or community importance. The best exhibition here at summer 2023 was by the Casablanca Art School, which featured works by artists highlighting the artistic rebirth following Moroccan independence. Also, Barbara Hepworth, Partou Zia, Hera Büyükta?c?yan and more. You'll find diversity, historical significance and stories expressed in the art.It features a lot of Cornwall-related and Cornish inspired art that echoes the local community and landscape - as well as lands away from the UK.Many people who have visited Tate Modern in London will check this out of curiosity and familiarity, and while it's an enjoyable visit, it's definitely not the same in scale or as rich in quality. In comparison to other Tate buildings and museums in general, it certainly doesn't stand out in a major way. That's a subjective thing anyway. There's a great view of the beach and coastline from a seating area with massive windows. A nice cafe is inside too for a quick snack with a view before you press on.There isn't a dedicated car park but parking is easily available nearby in the form of; Porthmeor beach car park, Barnoon long stay car park (5 minute walk). As with a lot of St Ives roads, there's rarely any disabled parking spots for blue-badge holders, just a few.

I wouldn't normally have done it during the summer holidays as St ives becomes almost inaccessible as soon as the summer holidays begin, but in a moment on madness I decided to drag my art loving teenage daughter with me.It's a very beautiful building in a fantastic beach setting. It's spotlessly clean, the cafe on the top floor is very good and has great views. The gallery itself wasn't too busy, I suspect that's probably down to the entry fee.Overall, it was OK. It was nice to have taken my daughter, but if I'm completely honest, we much preferred walking around the local galleries and art stores. We could have spent all day looking around all the individual shops and gallery's but barely spent an hour in the tate.Personally, we won't be going back. The entry fee seems a little counterproductive when the building is surrounded by local artists' galleries that you can view free of charge.Glad we've done it but next time we'll spend a little longer travelling and go to the tate London instead.

Staff were friendly, helpful, and engaging.Great views from the cafe.NO PARKING, so it was quite a trek up and down very steep inclines.Gallery has ample disabled access. (But getting to the gallery safely may be an issue if you have mobility issues.)

Interesting shaped building. Art creates opinions. That it did. We didn't like alot of the exhibits. We felt that local artists in galleries around Cornwall produced more art we actually liked. Still. I'm glad we did it, as it was on my list of places I wanted to visit in St Ives. Overpriced. We found it sparked our sense of humour. Felt a bit pretentious.

Not very impressed I'm afraid, the art, although probably critically acclaimed, I just didn't get and was boring, dull and to me fell well short of some of the fantastic art that is around. The building was quite nice but didn't have much of a wow factor with the "art" limited to one floor only,I felt that the rest of the floors should have had a lot more going on with a visit to the building being more of an event!Quite expensive to get in for what it is and I wouldn't have been very pleased if I had had to pay for a whole family.Shan't be rushing back any time soon.
