Batty's Off Licence is more of a mini convenience store. It is a very scruffy store, and often smells quite badly of damp, which is rather off putting when you are looking at fresh food. It has many special offers as part of the Premier offers which many small stores in Barrow seem to take up. A lot of the offers are based around alcohol sales, but quite often they will have buy one get one free offers on various food stuffs, making them slightly cheaper than the major supermarkets, unless the supermarkets have the same items on offer. Being just a corner shop there is normally only one person working. And often they are youngsters who tend to be more interested in texting their friends or chatting to a friend in the shop, than actually serving anyone.
