Bought a mens aviator jacket. The service in there is fantastic. Love my new jacket. Highly recommended ?

Enjoyed our 1 week stay here, excellent location and accommodation. Two negatives 1. Parking ticket does not cover the hours between 10-6pm when a parking disc is required, this was not made plain to us on correspondence. We had a parking ticket placed on the car outside the cottage. I am challenging this with Rydal council and hoping to have it rescinded. ( Something to watch out for) 2. Main TV in the lounge had no remote control and only could get ITV3. I reported this the day we arrived and we were informed that someone would be out to fix the problem. Day 1 went by with no one coming. Day2 we phoned again and also had a phone call from cottages saying the fault had been reported and for us to expect someone out that day. When no one arrived I made another call on day 3 and was told that someone was finishing a job and we were next on the list and he would be with us soon. We are now at the end of our holidays and the problem still remains. No one has been to sort the problem, we gave up hope after several days that this was going to be rectified. Reading through the visitors book we discovered this problem of no remote control had been reported in May. We are now in the 3 rd month we no solution. This being the main TV in the cottage we found it very disappointing that we only had 1 channel to watch during a week of wet weather. And were not even able to watch the DVDs in the cottage due to the TV not having buttons that could be used to manually operate the TV and DVDs.

We stayed for a week in the Mews, Rydal which we booked via Lakelovers. It is a very well appointed cottage in a beautiful location, but our stay was severely blighted because we only had internet access for about 6 hours during our week there, and Lakelovers call center gave us contradictory explanations and showed little urgency in resolving the situation. (During those 6 hours the internet was very slow, but that might be inevitable for internet connection over a phone line in a remote location?) Two of our party needed to do some remote work which meant spending time in cafes with WIFI; and we were unable to get weather forecasts, information about hikes etc from the internet. (Cell phone reception is very poor at the cottage.) After all this we were offered an insulting 50 pounds in compensation valuing the substantial disruption to our stay at just 2.5% of the total cost. We are uncertain exactly what happened, because of the contradictory explanations. There was no internet when we arrived on Friday and we contacted the call center Saturday morning. They quickly sent someone over who left us a note to say the problem was outside the building and they would contact the owners who would contact the internet company as soon as possible. Saturday afternoon the internet came on for about 6 hours, before going off Saturday evening for the rest of our stay. The call center was by then closed for the weekend. When most tenancies begin on Friday or Saturday, it seems a bad idea to close your call center at weekends. (Lakelovers do also have an emergency number, but irritating as it was, we felt lack of internet was not an `emergency'.) We made repeated calls to Lakelovers call center from Monday onwards, but nothing concrete happened. The staff were very unwilling to give us clear consistent explanations and seemed to be trying to avoid giving us concrete information about what was happening. There were repeated promises to get back to us with updates by a specific time, but most of the time no-one did. Finally when we gave up on Wednesday evening we were promised that a manager would contact us within the next 48 hours, it is now 5 days after that promise, and there has been no call. According to the instructions in the cottage the owners subscribe to only 10GB of internet a month. If that is true then I suppose it is not unlikely that those staying late in the month, like us, have no internet. It would also be extremely misleading, to put it mildly, to describe the house as having `broadband internet' as the listing at Lakelovers said. We certainly would not have rented this property if we knew there would be no internet. One of Lakelovers call center employees seemed to confirm that this was the case. Other employees said there was a fault in the phoneline outside the house. In this version OpenReach apparently was contacted on the Tuesday, 3 days after Lakelovers were notified of the problem, but were unable to look into the problem until after we left. We were unable to find out when Lakelovers first contacted the owners of the Mews about this, despite repeatedly asking that question. Their representative would only say `we spoke with the owners on Monday afternoon', but would not say whether or not this was the first contact. Eventually their employee said `I am going to hang up now' and did. Our conclusion is that Lakelovers system for resolving problems which involves the owners is not fit for purpose, and we would not use them again. The Mews could be a very nice rental for a party not requiring internet access, but we would not recommend it to anyone who does.

Over the last 6/7 years we have booked numerous holidays through Lakelovers and always sung their praises and recommended to family and friends. How sad that on the last occasion when we had to cancel the accommodation (our problem) we received no help or assistance from customer services at Lakelovers and didn?t even ask if they could help to find alternative accommodation. Can?t say I?m disappointed with their customer services as there wasn?t any. Have emailed but no response. Will never use them again. They take your money then don?t want to know. All it needed was someone at the other end of the phone to actually care and value your custom.

We had the most delightful first experience of visiting Lake District and stayed at Bowfell cottage for two nights. Anne is a wonderful hostess - she's kind and makes you feel most welcome from the moment you arrive. Anne made us a tasty breakfast that kept us full. We had a family room with shared bathroom with another guest but this was not a problem as the bathrooms was available whenever we needed it. There is a sink in the room so it's helpful. Upon request, we were able to leave a few items in Anne's fridge in the kitchen. The cottage is dog friendly and our dog was most welcome to stay. Bowfell cottage is located in a quiet residential area near Bowness-on-Windermere town centre - you can take a walk or drive there - we preferred a walk as it was most satisfying - past traditional stone walled houses past marina, then along the lake up to the centre. All major attractions are a short drive away. We highly recommend staying at Bowfell cottage.

We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous family break to celebrate the New Year. Gale Lodge made our holiday, it?s the best rental accommodation we have ever stayed in. It is very well equipped with everything you could wish for and is furnished to a very high standard. It is in a perfect spot just a short walk from pubs, shops and restaurants but is on a quiet lane so is ideal. We will definitely be booking this cottage again in the future.

Book this cottage! We nearly didn?t book because of the mixed reviews, but please don?t let these put you off. Acorn cottage is quaint and beautiful, you can?t beat the location - 30 seconds walk in to Grassmere, and plenty of walks for all abilities from the door. You?re only a short drive away from other areas of the lakes for day trips - Ambleside, Keswick. Parking is really no problem - we have a Honda Civic which fit with plenty of room. Outside there are two sets of garden furniture. The garden isn?t secure so stick the dog on a long line. Inside the cottage is sparkling clean and comes with a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk sachets and biscuits. There?s also a little cleaning pack with bin bags, washing tablets and dish cloth. The kitchen is well equipped with absolutely everything you will need, the living room is lovely and cosy (especially with a roaring fire!) and the beds are very comfy. Heavy curtains perfect for winter and easy to use central heating. The shower is nice and hot after a long day in the fells. It would be a squeeze for 4 people but as a couple or family with children it?s perfect. We didn?t use the Wi-Fi so can?t comment on that, but hopefully you?re thinking of staying there as a holiday and not to work! Get out and enjoy the Lakes. We had a Saturday to Wednesday stay and absolutely loved it, we did so much and we could have done more. TIPS / NEED TO KNOW - Yes, the stairs up to the cottage are steep and not suitable for those who struggle with mobility - Bring a towel to lay on the floor for dirty shoes, there?s a shoe cupboard but limited room - You will need: logs, more toilet roll, washing up liquid, salt and pepper, cooking oil, milk - Tweedies is the best for food and drinks

Les and Julie were fantastic hosts. They decorated the yacht for my wife's birthday. We all had a go at being captain. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Les was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area.

Celebrated my dad's 88th birthday with a 2 hour session, what a fantastic experience for the whole family. From start to finish Les & Julie looked after us all, they were so friendly and easy going and we could participate as much or as little as we liked, even my mum and dad took part in steering the boat. We ordered the sandwiches and sweet treat box which was delicious and tea and coffee were offered throughout the trip (other drinks were offered too). I would highly recommend this activity because it's brilliant. The surprise at the end was a lovely thought and we'll always have special memories of this occasion. Even the rain didn't spoil our day! Thank you Les & Julie.

What can we say other than spectacular!!! We booked with Lakeland Adventures for a three hour cruise on Windermere for four of us and right from booking I cannot recommend them enough. Julie & Les were the perfect hosts and were so welcoming and really looked after us. We booked the platter to have on board and it was delicious! Les took us around the lake and pointed out all of the sights (I didn't even realise there was an island on the lake ha ha). We've been up to Windermere many times, but this felt like the first time, and it was truly a fantastic experience. Memories have definitely been made, and I don't know if anything in the Lakes could top it! A lovely touch from Julie & Les with the framed picture of us on board as we docked back and it will take pride of place of memories of a fantastic afternoon. Don't hesitate to book this trip, it's truly a brilliant experience. Thank you Julie & Les - we'll definitely be back!

Awful service, making the bed and adjusting a pillow case, I found blood on a pillow, my kids slept there for 10 days. I wrote and called Lakelovers, but had to go to thier office to make sure that they would have replaced the pillow for the next guests. Two big bags of dirty towels and bed linen remained in the cottage (in the living room) for 8 days, despite I called Lakelovers and asked many times to collect them. The cottage was clean but there was dog hair all aroud and a dirty pot. If you arrive when shops are closed consider that not even small quantities of shampoo and shower gel are available and you will find just a roll of toilet paper. It?s a pity as the property is new and nice, but the hygiene and the service provided by Lakelovers are not acceptable and recommended.

Julie and Les were amazing hosts. It was our first year with them and hopefully not the last. We ordered afternoon tea with prosecco, and it was lovely, we were allowed to bring our own birthday cake on board too. The boat was lovely, and both Julie and Les were great hosts. 3 hours was plenty of time and we had perfect weather too. They both went above and beyond to tailor our experience. Perfect for special occasions. Best Wishes Monika, Hubert and Friends.

Lovely big house very spacious it was little remote for me as it was 1/2 mile down country lane then 1/2 mile into Windermere wasn?t flat either. Only 2 things I found wrong was no oven gloves or any items for the use of log fire so had to use towel to open . Unfortunately we tested positive for Covina so left early but lakelovers was very supportive so thank you .

We had a wonderful trip with Les and Julie as part of a birthday celebration weekend in the Lakes. Both were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and they even gave us a framed photograph of the group as a memento! Unfortunately we could only fit in an hour-long trip but we will definitely be back for a longer cruise next time we visit Windermere.
