Quirky building and , yes, it probably could do with some redecoration. BUT...as clean as you can wish, excellent breakfast and the nicest hosts you could ask for. We'll go again for our next walking adventure.

We had a fabulous home cooked meal at The Copper Kettle. It was freshly prepared, nicely presented and tasted home cooked. The prices are very reasonable and the owners are friendly and interesting to talk to. If you in Kirby Lonsdale give The Copper kettle a try.

Booked in a hurry for a one night stay. Most of the reviews were 4 and 5's so, despite the dated photos, we took a chance. Oh dear! We paid £75 for a room with an en-suite as the rest were described as with a private bathroom and I didn't fancy bumping into other guests in the corridor in various degrees of undress! The room was on the first floor at the front, overlooking the main street. As the windows are single-glazed, we could hear everyone talking as they passed by. We could also hear the people in the next room talking as the dividing wall is paper thin. The whole place needs gutting and rebuilding, it's so dated, dirty and unpleasant smelling. The electrics are so dated, they still have the bakelite switches on the walls and the dust on the wooden chandeliers is noticeable when standing underneath. As per other reviews, we didn't dare use the shower either. Good thing we have a sense of humour but we DEFINITELY won't be back or recommend it. Breakfast was dodgy too, cheap sausages when the shop across the road won best sausage 2023 ???

I was visiting my family in the area and was looking for an overnight b&b in or around Kirby Lonsdale for one person. My son had been talking about the Copper Kettle and how bad some of the reviews were. But after searching for a room they came up at less than half the price of most of the hotels and I am not a woman of means, so I phoned them direct, booked a room for £45, £3 off the hotel.com price. I was happy with my room, yes it is dated and in need of a complete overhaul. However you get what you pay for, right?? Comfy bed. TV, WIFI, in the middle of the town, and breakfast. Pam the hostess was lovely, pleasant and helpful. The food menu was quite varied, so booked a meal for 3....it was really very good and extremely low priced! So all you people who have given a crap review.....yes its dated...its an older couple hanging on in there but giving a great reasonably priced service. You paid a really low price for accommodation, are mean and cruel about the hosts and the hotel. What the hell were you expecting??? The Ritz??? You get what you pay for...and it's good value for the money, if you are that stuck up you should walk on by and pay £100 + that you will be happy with.... but no....you tight wads get a reasonable deal and then slate it!!! Makes my blood boil reading the mean and scathing comments.

Basic room, dated and a bit run down. Mattress springs completely shot. Door could not be locked from the inside. Carpets thread bare.On the positive side, very friendly and helpful. Place was clean and quiet. Room was a good size. Location slap bank in the centre of town. Went out of their way to make parking available for me too. Breakfast was 8:30 earliest, which was too late for me, but offered to do packed lunch for me instead (which I declined as already had lunch plans).

Obviously we didn't read the reviews before we stayed, it seems that the owners don't read the reviews either. I can only echo the Tripadvisor reviews of others. It was unloved and worn out, or at best quirky in a charmingly threadbare way. The hosts were not naturally warm or welcoming, the breakfast underwhelming. If you are a light sleeper don't book the upstairs front room, lumpy bed and thin walls. Having said that it was central, cheap at £70 and the town is picture book chockful of wonderful sites.

Stayed June 9th 2023 for one night me and the wife. Met by lovely owners. Very friendly and polite and welcoming..had mixed grill in the evening. Very nice and good priced compared to the local pubs. Breakfast was perfect just right amount..bed was comfy and clean. For £65 a night Couldn't complain.

The room was really dated and cold. The duvet, pillows and towels had definitely since better days! Bike storage was offered as a facility, but this transpired to be in a garage full of junk, including broken slate, there was hardly any room for my bike. I would not recommend a cyclist to book this if this is important to them.

An authentic slice of olde England, a boarding house with charm and character. If you want corporate perfection then it might not be for you. If you want to feel like you're in a John Osborne stage play then this is the place. Nice and hearty food and a superb location. There's some free parking at the rear, too, which is always a bonus.

Kirby Lonsdale is such a delightful town so decided to spend the day here. Our first priority was to have something to eat. We walked up the high street checking out the different eateries. I wish we had walked in the opposite direction, down the high street!!! Found ourselves outside the copper kettle and rather than walk down again we went in there because we wanted to visit the spotted hen shop across the road afterwards. BIG MISTAKE Only 1other couple in. Cafe, would oil smell, Very outdated, not in a good way. The lady who served had a dirty jumper on, not much idea of how to deal with customers (asked personal questions) Everything had a grubby feel about it. The food was passable. Just DON'T visit the loos. You will be very shocked. It's a health hazard up there. See photos others have left. The only plus is that the food was inexpensive.

Stinking of fryer fat as soon as you walk in. Windows stuck open and taped with kitchen roll stuffed in the cracks. Unsafe lights. Looks like it?s never been maintained in decades. How people can give this place high marks is beyond me. They?re only getting the price due to the popularity of the town and not reinvesting anything in their business. They are cynically taking the pass out of their customers
