Employing 65,000 members of staff, the company has over 850 stores in 22 countries worldwide.
Decathlon sells a multitude of sporting products including tennis rackets, sport kits, and even scuba diving equipment, covering sports from swimming to archery, and cycling to fishing.
The superstores generally cover a large surface area, and as such are often located on large retail parks.
The Decathlon Group owns around 20 brands, and has a number of its own research and development facilities across France, enabling it to design and sell the most innovative sporting products to its customers.
