“Stayed for just one night. Love the very-slightly faded grandeur, brightened by beautiful fresh flowers. A relaxed atmosphere along with happy and helpful staff made for a perfect break. It was a simple birthday celebration but the hotel made it special with little unexpected treats. Dinner was a culinary triumph. Every course was cooked and presented beautifully, the combination of favours just perfect. The following morning was spent exploring Barnstaple and one place not to miss is the museum - so well curated and fascinating for children and adults alike. The Imperial is so central so no concerns about parking. Yes, visit Barnstaple and enjoy a stay at the Imperial. Highly recommended.”

“A fantastic, remote place to stay if you like peace and quite. Set in the Heddon valley, truly a unique location with lots of beautiful coastal and country walks directly from the hotel. A must for walkers.”

“I've traversed,high and low, this being due to my circumstances, it being hard times!? , amazing guys it's worth the visit, and amazingly, Ilfracombe, Bideford,wollacombe, all of a north Devon..(coastal lines are all on a (' par ')with s.west of Wales, a Pembrokeshire!!! but on a smaller scale, and of course, not to forget,, of a south Wales the Gower, and a sweet, and (dreamy place) a Porthcawl. ..Nearby activities: Ilfracombe, Bideford, wollacombe. And the town a Barnstaple, town centre All, it is worth a frequent..,!!Safety: Close knit community, well done north Devon!!Walkability: Everything, from amenities, public transport all Easily, and accessed by pedestrianised routes could not fault this town at all ?!!! “You get what you pay for. The staff are really friendly, for the price the food is okay. My only problem was both morning the room didn't have any hot water so had to have a cold shower (couldn't wait for the staff to sort out due to going to work)”
