“We used to come here before covid and was our first time back since. The staff are absolutely brilliant really friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic we will sure be going here more often. It was a last minute thing and we are so glad we chose the new inn. From 8pm they had a great singer in and I believe they have something going on most weekends there. I had halloumi fries to start witch where epic. Lasagne for my main with chips and garlic bread. That was all really nice. But I must say the chips they are incredible?. Unfortunately I couldn’t fit in a dessert but I’m will sure be having one next time. Thank you to Nyah who got the singer to sing happy birthday to our friend as she is 60 on Monday.”

“We got the ensuite room without a view for £140 for two nights. It's an inn run by a small group of people. The people were really nice, and they lent us some shampoo/conditioner for coloured hair because I forgot to take some with me!However, when I got in the shower we realised that the shampoo/shower gel bottle was empty. My partner ran down and got us some but the bottle was clearly labeled "Dove hand wash", and smells/feels like it too so it's not in a different bottle. The floor as you can see had loads of hair on it so I don't know when it was last hoovered which is a bit gross. When we woke up we realised that the inn didn't do any breakfast/lunch. They didn't serve food until 2pm so advised us to get something from the Spa very near by.The room that we were staying in had no door handle so every time we were closing the door we had to slam the door. Some of the other rooms had a handle I think our one was just broke. One of our keys didn't work - not sure if that was meant for the outer door? It would be helpful if it could be labeled because I had to try the door twice every time which was slightly annoying. The location was brilliant, literally a 3 minute walk (if even) from Starcross train station. It was a 5 minute drive to Powderham castle, however taxis were £35 one way as the they come from Exeter so it was just extortionate. So if you could drive you should probably drive!Overall it was a nice enough stay, lots of niggly bits however the staff were very friendly. It probably just needs a bit of a fix up and more attention to detail though.”
