Terrible experience I had little time with the stuck up women who served me . She basically stuck me on a treadmill told ne I had a netural foot. Brought out some trainers .put them on the floor left me to try them on and sort myself out on the treadmill trying them out . When I found one pair I like aked if I they had different colour .abrupt attitude nope that's all . So I paid 15 quid to look at a laptop which I already knew I had a netural foot . I will never go there again no customer service at all. I work for a top end car dealership and would not allow a customer to be left to their own devices what are we paying for . I asked if they could get on the colour I wanted nope nothing and I'd travelled from Plymouth to Exeter for this .total waste of a journey

Don't buy any footwear from here they will rip you off. My wife had a Physio assessment and they Recommended here so my wife went in and explained that the physio had recommended a Certain type of trainer. And she needed a pair that she could wear all the time so she paid £135. And they said it came with a 12 month warranty. 3 months later a hole opened up on the top of the trainer she went in to see them and they said sorry that it doesn't come under the warranty WHAT A JOKE so if you buy any footwear from here don't put them on. Just put them in the box and look at them

I've been there 3 times for running shoes. Everyone is very kind and willing to help, actually one guy has stayed with me for an hour to help me find the right shoe. However, every time I've been given wrong advice and this had as a result that the shoes weren't the right ones. Anyway, this won't stop me from visiting the place when I need something cause other than that it was a big variety of everything an athlete needs.

Giles at Runners Needs was so knowledgeable and helpful. He took time to explain why he recommended a particular pair of shoes. I am not a runner but that was not an issue with Giles - he listened to issues I had with my feet and suggested some shoes that feel so comfortable!! I definitely recommend going to Runners Needs - ask for Giles!!!

Over priced and poor customer service, a shame it is in with snow rock who I generally have a really good experience with as it reflects badly on them.

I made a special trip to try some headphones which I was assured were available to try before I buy. Looks like a nice shop and nice people but a wasted journey... they didn't have what they said

I had a very positive experience as soon as I entered the shop last Thursday. I had booked a free gait analysis with a very knowledgeable and welcoming staff member called Caroline. She asked me about my running history and my needs now, any previous injuries etc. I really enjoyed having the gait analysis done and going through the video frame by frame. She brought out several pairs of running shoes for me to try on based on my gait analysis. I felt under no pressure at all to buy, I was allowed to run around the shop in each pair as much as I needed and also try them with the running socks I was planning to purchase anyway. I had pre running event nerves and thought I needed to buy loads of things which Caroline said would be unsuitable for me at this late stage before my first full Marathon . I decided on a pair that felt exactly right for me and were properly checked and fitted by Caroline. She changed my mindset that day. They were no cheaper on line when I checked later and were worth every penny for the advice, and personal service and saved me money in the long run. I ran my marathon in those socks and the trainers I bought 2 days later after wearing them during my normal day walking around. Not one blister or pain or discomfort in my feet for the whole 26.2 miles! They were right for me. I couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend Runners Need. They obviously know a lot about running and your needs based on their expertise.

Quite a small selection of running stuff, with a small variety of sizes. Not too bad price wise, if you can find what you want

Came here for some new running trainers and although I ultimately left with a new pair of shoes that I?m happy with, I do have mixed feelings about my visit. Staff member initially dealing with me, guided me through a gait analysis, and after establishing that I have neutral gait, returned with one pair of trainers for me to try. After a quick jog around the shop and no complaints from myself, he seemed to take great pride that he?d found ?the pair?. When spending a substantial amount of money on anything, I, like most people I assume, would like to try a variety of options however when I asked to do so, his attitude seemed to shift, like he knew what was best for me and had already imparted his knowledge. It felt like an uphill battle, almost being made to feel awkward to ask to try a few different pairs of different brands, in order to cement my decision. Also incredibly sexist comments from multiple staff members insinuating that colour was the only factor I was basing my decision on. I doubt comments like ?matches your outfit? would be made to a male customer. In the end, one staff member, perhaps sensing our dissatisfaction, shifted her approach and finally allowed me time and space to consider my options, rather than the intimidating ?fast sell? approach we had endured.
