I have not visited the store but i dealt directly with Seth who manages their online sales. Seth was super friendly, well informed and provided honest pragmatic advice regarding potential accessories, lead times etc. Also particularly impressed with the interaction, processing of c2w scheme and the speedy delivery.100% recommend.

Verily, I ventured to the Bike Shed in Exeter, and though my heart was not burdened with disappointment, mine eyes beheld a sight of sameness. A multitude of identical bicycles graced the shop, and though the merchant's words claimed that some were powered by the electric sorcery, the mere addition of a battery on the rear failed to bestow a sense of style.Alas, the cargo steeds, which I sought to glimpse, remained elusive, as if concealed in the mists of Avalon. The delivery bikes, like fleeting phantoms, refused to manifest. Furthermore, a lamentable absence of such marvels as the Super 73, a beacon of innovation in the world of two-wheeled contraptions, did persist within this emporium.'Tis a tragic truth, for it is written in the annals of commerce that stagnation begets obsolescence. The reluctance to evolve, to embrace new designs and ideas, doth portend the fate of a dinosaur, destined to be fossilized in the annals of history. Mayhaps a brighter path lies ahead, where British companies shall rise like a phoenix, soaring on the wings of innovation. Now, are you fit for the task and have a room full of bikes that people want you should not have a room full of bikes because they should be selling out so quick that it should be empty

Disappointed.I was happy to wait the two weeks for my son's bike to be serviced and for it to receive a replacement crank / pedal.I returned to the shop to pick up the bike only to be told that they were unable to provide the service that was 'no problem' when it was dropped in.The loss of two weeks has now prevented the bike being ready for the event it was being serviced for.Absolutely no communication during the drop off and pick up, just an awkward 'sorry' at the collection desk.Poor.

I paid a visit to The BikeShed after a long trip from up'north and realising I'd forgotten my cycling shoes. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Sorted me a new pair of shoes and fitted the cleats. The shop is extensive, everything you'd need to get you rolling.

A wheel fell off of our pram and, in a total panic, we rang the Bike Shed to see if there was any hope of repairing it (where do you go to repair a pram?) The Bike Shed team were absolutely brilliant and in the space of 15 minutes, our problem was solved. Literally no problem too small. Excellent service.

Top service. Moved a bike down from Barnstaple to Exeter for me to try for size. Test ride at outta town store. Set MTB up for my weight and size. Absolutely cannot fault the service. Special shout out to Josh for doing all the bike movements, advice and set up. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Can't recommend enough.

Great experience at the Bike Shed. Me and a couple of mates were on a bike trip from Penzance to London and had stayed in Exeter overnight. In the morning before setting off, I realised that the front brake was rubbing against the disc so went to The Bike Shed to get it fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't get the guys name that helped but he sorted it out super quickly and didn't charge me for it. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Great staff and very generous gesture!

A very disappointing experience with Bike Shed today:As an Exeter resident, I?ve used this shop in the past for various bits and pieces, including buying a brand-new bike from them a few years ago.Today I went on a solo road ride from Exeter via Tiverton and as I cam back into town on Sidwell Street, I got a rear wheel puncture from a shard of glass. Whilst I had levers, tube, and pump, I made the mistake of not packing an allen key for the rear axle. Not being far from Bike Shed on Fore Street, I walked the short distance with the intention of borrowing an allen key to enable me to get the mile or so home. The member of staff behind the shop counter listened to my request and then offered to sell me a brand new multi-tool including allen keys, and refused to lend me any tools. The fact that there were used allen key sets on the counter of the shop clearly on display, and the fact the member of staff had a used multitool in his pocket which he took out, took one look at and then put away again, made the experience even more bizarre. It would have taken me 5 seconds to have removed my rear axle, saving me from having to walk home in cleats. That I have a range of allen key sets and multi-tools at home already, which I did explain, made the idea of buying more to save a walk, an undesirable option. When your usually friendly local bike shop refuses to lend you the most basic of tools, for the briefest of time periods, to help you out of a tricky situation, you do have to wonder. As a previous customer of this shop, I am now very reluctant to make any purchases from them again, and in future and will have to think twice before recommending their services to friends and family.

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service me and my girl had today , wanting to buy my daughter a new bike today , the chap who served me was like he hated his job , couldn?t care less about what I was telling him , got a bike that was clearly to small fully adjusted the seat post so it was at its highest setting a just said yeah get that one , when I asked for a different bike he came back with another that was way to big , just to be told again to get that one . So unhelpful and disinterested, my girl even said to me after he must really not like his job . I?d advise anyone who wants better customer care to go Halfords ! The chap up there was brilliant , made my girl feel really at ease , tried a number of bike , helmets , safety gear , they are building the bike for us and we pick it up next week , awesome after care as well , for £5 you get so much after care for the whole year , as she?s a child she gets unlimited adjustments and puncture repairs . That?s the best part of £500 the bike shed has missed out on . Just to make this clear this is the bike shed on honiton road .

Having spent a long time trying to decide if an E cargo bike was right for me, I researched every single one on the planet and eventually dropped into The Bike Shed to get the ball rolling.I was greeted by Josh, who would be my salesman and all round legend from start to finish.I changed my mind on what model I wanted, I phoned and emailed when I got impatient.Josh calmly and professionally helped me choose the bike I wanted, got it ordered, got it built and sorted me out with various back and forth questions I had.I am fully aware I am not an easy customer, I like to plan and prepare for a big purchase and I want to make sure I'm right and being looked after.I specifically chose to come to a bike shop rather than the internet for the human interaction, helping a local store rather than some faceless website.Josh looked after me and sorted me out from start to finish and I can't tell you how much I love my Tern and couldn't recommend to other people more that you visit this store for your bike needs.I will for sure be back, as will my colleagues.Cheers Josh!

Excellent service, the people there love what they do and know their field well. If your looking to buy a bike, get one serviced, or buy some accessories such as clothing tyres etc. You'll get great advice as to which (of the large) to get. Bikes and accessories for all budgets though generally on the higher end.

Sent my bike in to get repaired after my gears were playing up. I don't know loads about bikes and they explained everything really well and booked me in for a repair the next day. when I came back they said they'd managed to fix it without much effort so they did it completely for free which was pleasant surprise. all in all great shop, a treasure trove of bikes and kit in here and great service, highly recommend!

I can?t speak highly enough of the the Bike Shed Exeter from start to finish when buying my bike and gear. ?They have been fantastic.Being new to the bicycle world, dealing with Bill at the town branch he gave me all the time in the world. Filling me with priceless tips and information.
