Our first time? although the food was very good and the staff were very attentive the place was let down by the shocking state of the toilets. There was water on the floor in the cubicles, no toilet paper, no push plunger in more than one of them. Finally the cocktails, although tasty, were more ice than drink. We will not be going back mainly because of the toilets. I question the hygiene!!

Food was very good, staff lovely. Only criticism was the restaurant was cold. A couple of ladies behind us kept their coats on! Would certainly visit again.

I have to say that the staff at the Exeter Botanist on Wednesday 3rd January at lunchtime were exceptional. It was my daughters 16th birthday and through no fault of their own a delivery of meat hadn?t arrived and after we ordered an alternative choice to be told they had run out of this option too they went above and beyond to provide us with a lovely lunch. To top it off they unexpectedly came out with a personalised birthday dessert board, to make it extra special. Brilliant staff and lovely food. Thank you. We will be back.

Thank you to Jess our waitress for her hospitality and attentiveness on New Years Eve. Amazing staff, beautiful food as always and all the staff were fantastic they couldn?t do much more for us.Full vegan three course meal and prosecco, thank you to the chef who was on his own in the kitchen yet produced fast and delicious food.10/10 will be back thank you guys so muchDietary restrictions: Full vegan menu so many options I couldn?t decide!

Overall the food was not bad but my first two choices were not available which was disappointing. We waited nearly an hour for our food. Staff were very good, polite and doing their best at a busy time. I would say give it a go, this may have been a one-of. I hope so because the menu choices are pretty good??if they have them.

The food was nice, we ate from the Christmas set menu and the choices were a bit strange and the kebab was very pale looking but was quite tasty regardless! The service was good, though they did lose a drink order but it was quickly rectified. Staff were friendly and our arrival drinks came out in good time, so did the food! The only issue was paying at the end, the waitress didn?t know the price and undercharged everyone so had to go back round and take more money. We then were told we were £50 under, which was clearly incorrect as we each added up what we had. This was a long process so was a bit frustrating when we were ready to leave! They waived it in the end, though I believe it was more their error not ours as we payed what we were asked to pay.

Absolutely shocking !!! Ruined our Christmas get together. Booked our table for 7 people for 6pm and we didn't have our drinks order taken for nearly 20 minutes. It was a further 15 minutes after our drinks order was taken we got our drinks and our food order taken.Our starters arrived nearly an hour into our 2 hour table slot which was only for 2 of us the rest only ordered a main meal.We were still waiting for our table to be cleared from our starters and our main meal to arrive at 7:40pm. We finally complained after being very very patient at 7:45 pm only to be told as at 7:55 our food would be another 20 minutes.If there was a staff shortage or a long wait for food then it would of been respectful to have told us before we were shown to our table.Ruined our evening and I will never eat there again.Disgraceful !!!!Just to add I did respond to the comment below and emailed the address that was left and had no response. That just sums it all up for me !!!

Overall it was really nice, the food and the service was great.However, I?m giving a 2 star due to themore than 10% tip on the bill.We didn?t complaint at the time because we were embarrassed to do so. We were having our last lunch of the year and we didn?t want to start a complaint.However, I don?t think is fair to force customers to leave a tip (for us it resulted in £5 per person) and I would prefer not to come back.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was surprisingly child friendly considering there's a bar. They provide high chairs which is great. There was a group of 5 of us with kids and they accommodated some very nice seating for us.I had the vegan noodle salad and it was the bomb! def recommend although the portion size was a bit small.Staff were lovely and friendly, would definantly recommend for people who don't mind spending a bit extra and love a beautiful atmospheric evening. I think its a bit too expense to go frequently though. I've recommended friends and will continue to do so.Kid-friendliness: They provided crayons and paper for kids to doodle on whilst we waited for food. the wait time wasn't so bad so the kids didn't complain. My nephew did want more cheese on his burger though haha

1st visit to The Botanist. Lovely atmosphere, great food, attentive and friendly staff.Will definitely go back.The only thing was the bread was a bit tough on the sharing camenbertBut the relish was delicious ?

Nice atmosphere, very friendly waiting staff, very attractive decor.However, not good food. Cold lamb with gristle in every piece, and it was quite chewy.Very slow service, considering we were the only ones there.Lovely staff, but we wouldn't choose here again.

Been here a few times and loved it each time but this visit was mediocre. The toilets were out of order due to having work done and the disabled toilet door didn't lock meaning I got walked in on. The food was OK but my first lot of sweet chilli fries were cold so they quickly replaced them but the 2nd lot were overdone which was a shame as they are normally divine! Starter, kebabs and cocktails were great. The waitresses were lovely but service was a tad slow on this occasion as they had minimal staffing.

We went here for lunch. The decor was amazing and the place was very clean.Staff were very friendly and efficient.The food was amazing. Fresh and tasty and the puddings were delicious.We will definitely be going again.Dietary restrictions: The waitress asked at the start about any dietary requirements before we even started to order.
