From the outside it looks a bit bland, but inside it?s nice. The post office staff are courteous and in my first experience of going in there I?d give them a ten out of ten. That is my review of plymton post office. Oh and by the way if you?re looking for a good service from post office staff, don?t go to plymstock branch, it?s a terrible experience and you don?t t deserve such shoddy service.

A few weeks ago, we left our documents at this post office by mistake and Jackie Burton, one f the staff, had it sent over to us. This gesture was very appreciated and its nice to see there are still good people around!

We visit this pub quite often during the day both weekends and week days, lovely atmosphere, great prices and sports on the TV! Much better than other pubs on the area.

A member of the bar staff was very rude to my adult son. Very derogatory and judgemental. Needless to say our service was taken elsewhere. We will not return. Maybe customer service training would not go amiss?

Apparently the other reviewers hold the staff in this place liable for the failings of the company they work for. Every time I go in here I am dealt with promptly and good service has always been provided; I use this postie quite frequently so I'd disregard what the thick old dinosaurs have said about it - great place.

I am not shocked or surprised at the level of reviews for this post office service. The final straw for me was today, when I wanted to post a letter to a friend in the USA. I did the usual had already put an Airmail sticker on, it was weighed and I was charged £1.40 to then have my letter passed back to me with the stamp laying on it. I said aren't you going to put that stamp on, for the unhelpful assistant to save "oh no"we can't do that as if the stamp came off we would be liable. I explained I have been writing to this friend for years who is now in her 80's and never have I been told too do this myself. I will never used this branch again and have already told friends and family about this awful service.

I still can't believe the true value you get a this place. A fantastic breakfast really well cooked and presented. As many hot drinks as you can manage for £ 1.20 yes that right £1.20 , and great friendly service too , well done ð???!

Posted rail tickets on 14/12/17, from the Ridgeway post office, and explained they had to be in Hastings no later than 18/2 so my poorly sister could travel home for Christmas. We had already paid out for first class rail travel due to her illness which I explained to the staff member and asked for advice on how best to get the tickets safely there. On Post Office staff advice, tickets were then posted first class but with recorded delivery, tracking number and to be signed for at other end. Staff said tickets would be delivered on 15/12 but even in light of an 'unlikely' delay, there would be "plenty of time" for them to get there by 18/12 i.e. 3 delivery days (Fri, Sat, Mon) over the next 4 day period.
Tickets did not arrive. Utterly useless online tracking system simply and constantly says "progressed through our network for delivery' but does not say where in the system the tickets are. I phoned Hastings sorting office to see if they had arrived there at least to be told quite categorically from their tracking of my reference number, that the tickets had never left the Ridgeway PO! They advised me to ring Ridgeway but on trying, discovered this post office has an automated, frustrating and totally unhelpful phone line and you're not allowed to speak to a real person. I had no option but to leave work and drive to Plympton to the PO where I politely explained the situation and asked them if they would look to see if the envelope had accidentally fallen on the floor, was on a shelf etc, explaining what Hastings sorting office had said. Immediately another member of stall serving another customer started saying 'No, they're not here, they went straight away', despite the fact I'd never seen her before and she hadn't served me previously. Despite not being overly busy, the staff were completely disinterested, REFUSED to even look around their small work space for the missing envelope and were immediately defensive saying 'there's no way the tickets are here' and 'it's not our fault'.
I completely understand mistakes happen and things get lost but their total lack of empathy or practical help was stunning. They were just not interested. Upshot is - we've had to buy another rail ticket as Great Western Rail won't issue duplicates after Royal Mail lost ours. As First Class costs have more than doubled in price since I bought the original tickets, we've had to buy a standard ticket for my ill sister to get her home. The useless Royal Mail tracker system still doesn't know where my tickets are, though Hastings sorting office remain convinced they never left the Ridgeway Post Office. I wasted a whole day trying to track the tickets down, going between the phone, driving to Plympton and then to the Railway station which was stressful and upsetting, and not helped by staff who couldn't care less and were of zero help.
