The manager at this branch is a discriminatory and aggressive person. My mother entered Sports Direct to buy a pair of socks today, one for her, and one for her husband. She picked up one pair of men's socks, and one pair of women's socks. She took these to the counter, but the sales assistant scanned the men's socks twice rather than each individually, and as a result the receipt said men's socks x2. As my mother was leaving, she spotted a pair of junior socks that would fit her better, and took them back to the counter to exchange the women's socks for the juniors. At this point, the error on the receipt was pointed out, but as if it was my mother's fault. The manager accused my mother of swapping the socks at the door, and after she grew frustrated and emptied out her bag to show that she had not done so, he accused her of assaulting his staff and told her she was banned from the shop. This is, of course, silly in itself, but the real issue is that whilst escorting my mother out of the store, he was very close to her and trying to pressure her to leave quickly. My mother is severely disabled and cannot walk very fast, nor without great pain. She mentioned this to him and asked him to not pressure her, to which he replied "I don't care". I entered the shop to exchange the socks for her (which, for some reason, was a very simple and easy process!) and I attempted to speak to the manager and ask that he show more patience towards disabled customers. He was aggressive and hostile to me from the get-go, interrupting me and refusing to listen to me. Although I was speaking calmly and politely, he also accused me of arguing with him and repeatedly scoffed at me. He then repeated to me, "I don't care if she pulls 'the disabled card'." It is my opinion that the manager of this store is an aggressive and discriminatory man with no respect for his customer base, especially those who need more patience. His actions were extremely disappointing, and I truly hope Sports Direct takes action over this. This behaviour is unacceptable. My mother was very distressed by the treatment she received here. Do not shop here if you care about the disabled people in your life: the manager does not care.Edit: Judging by other reviews here, this is not a one-off case. Upper management must take action.

DON?T SHOP HERE!!!They have LOW prices because they sell end of the line product, bad quality build. Purchased a pair of NIKE?s trainers, back home observed that they were faulty, returned them a day later to be greeted by a aggressive store manager who refused to give me a refund but only a credit note back and an also rude staff member at the till.

Clearly they are not interested in my custom. I have rung 4 local stores today to check in store stock and each call has rung for 5 or 6 rings then you are cut off. Same for all stores tried. How do you speak to people now. As I say Sports Direct clearly don't want my money.

The staff at the cashier was passionate to great Whites but not customers of other races.

On a last minute dash to find a pair of running shoes before school term. The staff member Dave was most helpful, very knowledgeable and friendly. He spent the time explaining the whys in a way my kid could understand. I would recommend visiting this store and finding Dave or Kelly if you are not sure. Much better in knowledge compared to the other high street sports shops. I would use them next time.

I am a regular customer of the Sports Direct.I am disappointed that you have closed down one of your stores in Castlepoint.Furthermore,I have had my worst experience in your store in Boscomb because the security guard forced me to leave the building for no apparent reason. He was laughing and not telling me why he was forcing me out the building. Also, an elderly lady came over to ask him a question and he also did not answer it.Unhappily, She left the building.

This is a great place to get all your sports kit either for leisure or serious sportswear. There are a lot of offers provide for all sorts of sportswear. There are different deals every day for different products in store. There is a parking nearby which is reasonable and it caters for disabled persons too. Definitely recommended. Have a great day ?. There are also different various types of sports shoes and trainers.

A well stocked, but smaller store. Has most of the range but due to size can?t hold everything for obvious reasons. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Always willing to try and assist when they can.

Surprisingly good value and deals. Worth it if you can't overspend on gear
