A wonderful bookshop. Neat, lots of space and a great selection of different books. It's also nice to see local authors and stories on the shelves. If I had had room in my suitcase, my shopping would have escalated for sure.

My mum booked this B&B for me as a birthday treat, after seeing the Sanctuary Bookshop below it back in June, which I loved. I can genuinely say it?s one of the best gifts I?ve ever had. Mariko is an incredible host, and was especially careful about covid precautions (given that not many people are anymore) which I really appreciated as someone who is chronically ill. I stayed in the ?Land View? room, which was a sweet little room with an incredibly comfortable bed and it?s own TV, kettle and mini fridge. As the B&B is literally 30 seconds from the water and on the high street, this room was lovely and quiet even on Saturday night. The toilet was immediately next door, with an extremely comfortable claw-foot bath, toilet, sink and bidet. It was very, very clean and well stocked - I had forgotten my shampoo and everything I could have needed to bathe was already thought of by Mariko and provided in the bathroom. The shared living room and dining area were also extremely well-kept, with a book collection only rivalled by the lost Library of Alexandria (which, by the way, if you find something you would like to buy you can take down to the Sanctuary Bookshop below and Bob will price for you). There was also a substantial DVD collection (with all the notable movies set in Lyme) which was a nice touch. You could see the sea night or day from the living room window, and it was so peaceful eating breakfast watching it from the dining table. Mariko?s breakfasts are second to none - I am vegan and the breakfast I received was absolutely delicious and I didn?t feel I was missing out compared to the meat-based option. I am already planning my next trip back! Thank you Mariko and Bob for a wonderful stay.

I?ve visited Lyme Regis a few times - I?m in love with the stretch of coast that extends past Charmouth and return to beach comb from time to time. On my visits, I have often popped into the bookshop at the bottom of the High Street and lost myself for a while. Little had I realised there was a B&B above. Now I feel like I?ve just left a little piece of heaven. I love the sea and I love books so to stay at the Book Lover?s B&B, more or less on the beach, with a sea view was such a treat. In fact, I think this is my favourite of all the B&Bs I?ve stayed in to date. A real gem that I?ll definitely be returning to. The accommodation is spotless and so full of character. I could have spent weeks exploring the books in my guest bedroom alone. As well as books galore, both the bedroom and the guest living room / dining room are filled with antique / vintage furniture etc. The living room also had an extensive DVD collection that Mariko said I would be able to view in my room should I want. Mariko was the perfect host, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Her Japanese breakfast was delicious and the perfect way to start the day. There is no parking at the property but Mariko offered the use of her garage and I will definitely make use of it when I return (which I will!).

Amazing location right in the centre of town. The room is really big, clean and a lovely sea-view from the window. Even have a fridge in your room. As other reviews have mentioned, use of their garage a few mins walk away was an added bonus and Mariko, the host was welcoming and lovely. The breakfast was really good and really big as well/ Unbelievably good value and will definitely be returning for another stay.
