I went in there on Tuesday & got the girl to check my lotto ticket & she said it wasn?t a winner & threw it out, when I got home back to Dorchester I realized it still had draws remaining for Wednesday night so I?ve been ringing all day but no answer, not that happy about it ?

If you read it, write on it or write with it, this is a shop for you. Books, magazines, pens, pencils and infact all of your stationary needs. Puzzels, games and many recreational products. If you need a 2006 ford mondeo timing belt, a car mechanic establishment is your best bet!!!

Never answer the phone. Why have a phone number at all if you can?t answer it? I need to know when that useless post office is open before travelling!

Great for shopping everything you could possibly need. Definitely something for everyone. Better still is the post office in-store. Can't begin to say what's there so go look for yourself, garenteed you will not be disappointed. Great staff, with positive attitudes. Recommended.

I've dealt with Liz the store manager, she has gone above and beyond in helping me return a gift card that was purchased at another store. Took all my details, called me the next day to say she had sorted it and would be ready for me when I next popped in. What a pleasure to deal with. Thank you

I bought book light in the colour purple when i opened the book light the back of it had white patches and was sticky to the touch and the batteries were getting rusty, so i went back and asked for it to be swapped, the person i spoke to couldn't really see the problem as the light turned on, still she reluctantly swapped it for one in black. Now when i got home and tried the new light it did not work so on the following day i went back and this time i wanted my money back but instead was made to feel bad because nobody else has had a problem with these book lights, well sorry to say but there is a first time for everything although they did were able to make the light work at that point i just did not want it. Still was handed one by the manager and at this point i was just embarrassed so i took it and left. Now i don't leave reviews often at all but this really annoyed me!

Encountered a very unfriendly and rude female stag member when I asked for help in finding refills for a cartridge pen. I wish I had noted down her name and complained to the manager.Next time I'll go directly to Amazon to purchase them.

When a monthly magazine which I know is out and available, this lot can be anything up to a week putting it out on the shelf's. I'll get it elsewhere so there's one sale gone. What a funny way to run a business

W H Smith has been around forever and like a lot of the old fashion chains it has suffered from been undercut by the next generation. They are improving but on the whole are generally been more expensive than there competitors who are not saddled with lots of smaller but expensive to operate high street shops. They have definitely improved in the last few years and for some items like books are very competitive. I still feel they try to operate a vast range of products and the specialists will almost always be cheaper. Take dvds for instance. They have a limited range which will almost always be more expensive than the specialists.I still like to browse their stores particularly the larger ones which are clean well maintained and have the occasional bargains.

I don't know why WH Smiths always seems so disorganised. Maybe it's because they have such a range of products in a reasonably small space. And there cash desks are never sufficient to move the queues efficiently. That said we all still shop there as they have what we need when we need it and at a reasonable price.
