Lady on reception went more than 100% to help. Rooms are clean and tidy. Basic but good. Next door is an adorable dog friendly pub with beautiful comfy interior decor. Be aware though. The very second last orders is called, the timer begins and the clock is ticking as lights are turned off chairs are pushed under tables and the management? Is hovering over you for your glass ?. I know we all have homes to go to, but ushering people out whilst looking at your watch is slightly unnecessary. Would I stay at the hotel again and revisit the pub? DEFINITELY! Maybe they were on a promise and wanted to get out of there ??.

We've stayed here a few times as its very handy for Rainto Arena events. Pub next door and car park.Older style hotel & no lift.

For a cheap place to stay the rooms are around the nicest I?ve seen from a Travelodge and it was very spacious inside. It?s just such a shame they let dogs in as they are so noisy!

If you have a walking disability beware the walkway to the reception is not flat ground. The stairs only have one handrail, lighting in the room I was in was very dim, not good if using crutches. If you are disabled please double check you?re on the ground floor. To my horror on my arrival we had been given a family room up 2 flights of stairs

Exactly what we needed, great value for money. Credit where it is due, we did have a minor issue on arrival, this was rectified pretty much immediately, thanks to Kris for being on hand to sort, He was on Reception on our arrival and could not have been more helpful.

Awoken by a conversation, possibly in the next room, at 4.20 am. As this was a 'private' room I assume this was staff having a conversation but cannot be sure. The bathroom was not as clean as expected. Pillows uncomfortable for me so did not sleep well at all.

We used the Trevelodge at Chester le street so that we could visit Beamish. We had been there before a number of years ago but felt that one day was not enough to see everything. This time we used it three days in a row and felt satisfied that we had seen it all at our leisure. Chester le street was a nice little township, too.

Great little hotel. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast box. Great that you can walk internally from the pub to the hotel rooms.

We were looking for a simple overnight stay during our travels in the durham area. Booked this not expecting too much, but very happy with the room which was spotless , the welcome and local information provided was really appreciated, and the price and free parking a lovely bonus. Would recommend

Matt and his staff were lovely. Matt is a local lad, so useful for local insights. Church Mouse pub nice and adjoining. Not a standard new build, building has character. Would recommend for couples or families

As a base to operate from its ideal. Clean, pub next door accessed via internal door, comfy bed, ideal. Unfortunately the main, duel carriage way is like a racetrack, with the locals tanking up and down until the early hours.
