I went a few weeks ago to sort out an account and Paula was amazingly helpful - I'd been unable to work it out by myself even with letters sent etc. so Paula's help was invaluable, and the whole issue got sorted very quickly!

Not the staffs fault but why is there no common sense anymore, employ staff to show everyone how to use the self service machines that don?t work.

I bought a new phone and when I tried to log into the app on the new phone I was locked out. The telephone help got me nowhere. So on Saturday morning I went to this branch. I can only say thank to the the bank staff and in particular the llady from the Bishop Auckland branch. She spent over an hour with me and tried everything until finally i could get back in and use the app. You are a life saver. Best bank employee in the North

If I could give them 0 Stars, I would. Terrible service from entering the building on one occasion when visiting with my mum, the account holder. The lady at the help desk initially offered her assistance whereby I explained I?m here to help my mum with her online banking as she spoke very little English to explain her situation, hence why I accompanied her to the branch on the day. It was sternly and rudely reiterated to me that it was HER account, and SHE would be able to request this, although it was clear I was acting on her behalf, WITH her present. Having established we were unable to receive help at the time of our visit due to the wait, we were provided with information to get on our way. Before leaving we did query if it was possible to still make a direct transfer, when it was immediately queried if this was an ?overseas payment?. Whether this was unintentionally queried or not, given our ethnic background it was certainly not received well. I have since placed a complaint into the branch and also submitted one online to which the Branch Manager was of no help, nor has the online team with being advised ?they?re still investigating the complaint? in the middle of JANUARY. Avoid at all costs, will certainly will be moving my mother?s bank at our earliest convenience.

The main reason I have awarded HSBC one star is because they don't allow me to award them no stars. I have tried to speak to someone on the phone but I am unable to get past their totally unacceptable telephone system. Even when I get to the stage where I am invited to say something, the system is unable to understand the most basic information.

No business manager to deal with any issues at the Darlington Branch so be aware when choosing who you bank with and no ATM to deposit money out of business hours, when Primary Users are processed they don't let you access your business account and therefore you cannot transfer money and can not operate properly, very under resourced bank with little knowledge to help in branch, over the phone expect lengthy call wait times aswell, always ask for a new security device when changing primary users as the old ones don't work yet there is an option to retain the old one which we did but have been told now i should of got a new one for the new Primary user, complete and utter waste of time and advise to switch banks that have branch managers and outside ATM's.
