Called in whilst staying in Durham with my daughter and couldn't have been more impressed. Very attentive and helpful staff; excellent customer service. To our surprise, we actually found a much better selection and prices than our local store which is slightly bigger - so ended up filling a rucksack with healthfoods, supplements and snacks for our trip.

Have been long time customer at this branch for many years and have always had friendly, helpful service from the various staff there until my last visit 2 days ago when shop was quiet. The young woman ( it said ?Leanne? on till receipt) at the counter couldn?t have been less interested. Minimal conversation. When I approached counter, she said, ?This side? pointing to card machine nearer to her. No ?please? or ?thanks? or other interaction except to ask if I wanted a bag and when I replied, ?yes, please? it was silently pushed at me unopened and no offer of help to put purchases in. She didn?t say what it would cost but I already knew that & it wasn?t an issue for me but she didn?t know that. There was no thanks for the overall purchase or even a ?goodbye?. Seemed more interested in examining her fingernails. Oh, Morag & rest of lovely Team, how I hope you?ll be back on duty next time!

Went into this store today to stock up on a few items. I asked for some advice on how to relieve my period pain. The lovely lady called Irene was so knowledgeable, kind and very patient with me. She recommended many things to try out. I felt she went above and beyond to help me. Lovely lady to talk too. She is very skilled in what she does. She deserves a pay rise! Went in today to get some items and was very happy that there was a choice of the styles of the items I wanted and Fiona, the Lady who served me was very helpful.I also did get money off my purchases which was also get.Much more choice than I thought there would be especially whole foods.Highly recommended.

A medium-size branch of Holland and Barrett with friendly employees and reasonable stock selection. Holland and Barrett are a large UK chain, a subsidiary of an international investment business based in the tax haven of Luxembourg. For my wholefoods in Durham, I prefer the small friendly stall at the back of covered market, where many products are cheaper and always from an ethical source, and you can order almost anything in.
