What an embarrassment ??Nothing on the shelves but empty boxes, no basic veg, out of date items not discounted or in the bin, staff that don?t care (why should they?).Going to Aldi from now on.Wish I could give zero stars.

This Asda store in stanley is in desperate need of a full revamp, particularly the exterior of the building which looks so old and rundown!! Its the worst Asda i have ever seen! The entrance is awful too, small & shabby! Once inside however the store looks okay, but again the outside of the building urgently needs updating!! (Maybe Asda could just build a brand new store) The cafe/restaurant is very good & reasonably priced. The manager really needs to contact head office about the state of this building, especially when you have a modern looking ALDI just across the road.

Long row of checkouts, yet only one open. Long queue of people with trollies piled high. I had a bus to catch, so I just had to leave my basket of shopping next to an empty till and go. Plenty of staff in shop, but most appear to spend their time stalking every other customer to prevent shoplifting.

Sick to death of Asda now! Scan your own stuff and stand there for 10 minutes waiting for a bag. 100% Aldi from now on! - I already have a job, I don't need another scanning my own stuff, packing it and hanging around waiting for a BAG to benefit Asda. Pathetic.

Worst customer experience of my life. I purchased a Nintendo Switch OLED which was part of the Black Friday sale which was to be my one and only Christmas present. When I got home, I realised the box wasn?t even sealed and I opened the product and there was no inner packaging whatsoever. Just the console and it?s contents lying around in a box. The console itself seemed fine, other than it was completely out of battery on start up, so after charging it, I started it up and it was already logged into someone else?s account with their games on. I?d clearly been sold a returned item, I?d essentially been given a second hand console at full price. I was so upset when I?d realised what had happened, I contacted ASDA straight away, and I wanted to exchange the product for a new, fresh and untouched console, but they had none left in stock.I?d then been left with no choice of a refund, I asked if I could return it to the superstore in Gateshead next to the Metrocentre, and they said I could. After arriving there, the woman who served me literally tipped out the fragile contents of the box onto the till, which could of potentially damaged it, and then just rudely told me that I?d have to go to the Stanley store that I bought it from, even after being told by customer support that I could return it to that one, she then just proceeding not to have any interest in my legitimate frustration, after I was patient given the situation.Again, I arrive after a 30 minute drive to the Stanley store and immediately get my refund, proving to be my only positive experience in this situation, as the assistant was lovely at this store. However, the situation as a whole has angered me deeply, and honestly disgusted me that this level of unprofessionalism and disorganisation has reached a customer. I work in retail myself, so I know that mistakes can happen, but this is single handedly the worst experience I?ve ever had as a customer. My Christmas present was ruined, I?ve now had to return it as I couldn?t get an exchange for what I wanted, forcing me to take my business elsewhere and pay for a more expensive one, and miss out on Black Friday deals due to the company?s mistakes and incompetence. I am genuinely concerned as to how or why the staff put this console back into stock after it was clearly returned, and not sent away, or even wiped of its memory, like I said, this is coming from another retail worker. The business will without a doubt survive without me, of course, yet I will never shop with ASDA again because of this. You should hire or train more staff who are actually capable of fulfilling their roles. I will do everything in my power to get people to shop elsewhere, and ASDA may be a huge company that will continue to make millions, but one thing they can never buy is loyalty.

ASDA's is good because you can buy clothes it has a pharmacy and grocery and loads more sections of helpful items you can use at home or anywhere! Perfect!

As others have said this place has really gone downhill to the point I will only go if I am desperate. My main complaint is regarding on shelf price labels. It is like a bush tucker trial, trying to work out the correct price for an item. There are just labels everywhere.Today I purchased toilet rolls the label said x 9 for £5 however I got charged £7.95 at the checkout when I noticed I was told to go to customer service desk the lady on there was very professional polite and helpful, however the same can not be said for her colleague, she asked to check out this problem she went off to check came back and confirmed they should be £5 when this person was asked by the woman behind the desk to sign her book as per policy apparently, she reacted as though she had been asked to work all day for no wages appalling behaviour in front of customers and her colleagueI really think personally the area manager needs to get on top of this problem store.
