Angela is the first HSBC UK person I have met who knows what she's doing and she's nice with it. Five stars for her, but I won't be doing my majority banking with HSBC. I'm a Premier customer and so far I have been given the wrong information, left hanging and been treated as if I'm a criminal. I've opened an account with Virgin and will be doing most of my banking with them.

The officer Tan is very kind, he is helping my daughter for opening account even at about 4.20pm. Really appreciate it. Thank you

Can?t even pay cash in to your elderly parents account without the bank card, I know the bank details move been looking after it for them for years. I can understand taking money out would be a problem but giving them money? I went to a propper bank over the road without my bank card and paid it in to transfer it over. Avoid this bank and its arrogant staff.

I would have to say in my opinion that HSBC is the worst bank I have ever had to dealt with in my entire life and here is why.I went to HSBC after being rejected by a few banks to get an account as I was new to England as a resident and only had the usual identification (Passport, BRP, something that showed my UK address on it). I spoke with a woman named Claire who works at the High Street branch and she said I could open an account with what I had but she said that her supervisors might require more information. She then told me "All you need to do now is to get the family member you are staying with to write a letter to us with their name, date, address and that you live there and this will be acceptable, so I went to where I was staying, got them to write out a hand written note (Mind you they are 78 years old and it wasn't easy) and then I brought it in the next day and gave it to Claire, I thought that this would be the end of it, think again. So the next week I received my card and my pin and started setting up things, and I transferred money from Australia. The week after, I received a phone call from HSBC Stockton, it was Claire, she said "We need more information to prove your identity, what you have provided is not enough, so if you have a council tax bill etc then bring it on in otherwise we might need to close your account and send your money via cheque". (I had already told Claire numerous times I was staying temporarily with relatives and did not have a council tax bill and that my relatives don't receive council tax bills as they are over 75).So I went down to the bank and I confronted Claire and she spoke to me like it was no big deal that my account would be closed. I then showed her a TV Licence bill with the address I was staying at, apparently that is not acceptable, I then showed her other documents with my address, she accepted none of these. Then she said if I go down to a doctors surgery and sign up, they can write a letter saying where I live and can verify I am who I say I am.So I went down there and signed up, then they told me "We don't offer that service which HSBC claims we do". So I went back to HSBC and Claire went "Oh well, keep trying". Last week I then received a letter from HSBC saying "We are closing your account in 15 days unless we get proof of your UK address". So I went back there the other day with a UK bank statement from Halifax and they said "We cannot accept that because it hasn't been mailed to your address".Honestly, HSBC are the worst bank ever and Claire should be terminated over this. Why open an account for me?, send out my card and pin? and then want proof of my identity and address?. I went above and beyond to prove my address and identity and I have been treated like rubbish. And now my account is going to be closed as there is no way in hell I can get a council tax bill. Oh well in a week or so I am closing my account anyway and moving over to Halifax who have treated me 1000 times better than HSBC ever has.

I would recommend that people do not go with this bank. You have been warned.

After visiting my stockton branch today, i decided to let everyone know that it has to be the best branch by far!
I have personal and business accounts and visit more one branch on a regular basis.
Stockton has definately got the monopoly on customer service.
Thank you too all the staff!!
