I was utterly appalled by the service I got at Wickes and went next door to Wren. This I can tell you: don't mess about with Wickes. Go and see Dian at Wren, he'll sort you out with a great kitchen and will really bend over backwards to make sure you get what you want.

If you?re a gormless truck driver don?t worry. When making a delivery your keys are taken from you and you?re given a big red sign that reads ?do not move vehicle?. If you?re unsure whether or not you?d drive off whilst being unloaded may I suggest taking your red airline off and chocking your wheels as everyone knows truck drivers are stupid.Very disgruntled truck driver with 32 years experience.

Good DIY store, reasonable choice of products at fair prices. B&Q might be a tad cheaper but you don?t have to walk miles to get stuff!

Purchased the wrong item because it was incorrectly displayed in store with the wrong tag. I live 25mins away. Bloody poor attention to detail in this store. Woman behind the till had zero manners to. Managers need to fix up

I have friends who recommended Wickes KItchen, they obviously had a better luck. I wanted a practical fully functional kitchen. I learnt too late, that the "designer" didn't know his products, nor did he seem to understand my requirements. I was on a tight buget, but what Wickes didn't say was the fitters needed to be paid seperaterly.Recently I had flooring fitted, I was told up front that I paid for the materials and recommended fitters seperately. The only saving grace in this whole encounter, was the fitters Alan and Jason, who were FANTASTIC. They were experience enough to overcome the many problems and conscientious enough to recognise that I didn't have a bottomless purse. I would happily give them ten stars and recommend them to anyoneI paid for the kitchen and waited for it to be delivered:1) The measurements were wrong, so I had to compromise on the look.2) The radiator had to be changed to fit the kitchen units, thus incurring more cost, I filled in the gap on one side with a small spice unit, added cost.3) I couldn't have the Gas hob, as the black splash, would burn close to high heat. I bought an Induction hob from Currys, thus incurring more cost to have it fitted. Thankfully I had capacity on my Electrical Meter box, to add the Induction Hob. I am now learning to use it, as I have always used Gas.4) I had to pay for the installation of new sockets, which I thought were included in the plan.5) The work-top can't have anything HOT placed on it and STAINS. I specifically asked the "designer" for the opposite.6) After four promises that the "HIppo Bag" would be removed it is still in my garden nearly to two weeks after the completion of the job. Wickes seems to have no interest in their contractor'sirresponsibel treatment of their customers. Their attitude is very much "it has nothing to do with us, so why are you bothering me?"The end result: I am £3,000 over my budget, I didnt get the kicthen I really wanted. A "Hippo Bag" in my back garden, which is dealaying another contractor. Hippo have only one lorry working in this area, it is "permanently broken down". I personally belive, they are over commmited, don't have the capcity to forefill their contract, so it is the "little" people who are penalised.Wickes refund me for the Gas Hob, minus all the so called "discounts" they had given me when I purchased the kitchen. The "designer" never showed any interest in the mistakes that were occurring and didn't respond to emails, text messages or phone calls.I am truly gratefull that I didnt arrange for them to refitted my bathrooms, as I orginally planned, but the waiting time was too long. Thank goodness for "Big Mercies"
