Popular food pub between Yarm and Ingleby Barwick. Parking. Usual pub food offerings ( parmo, pasta) and interesting firecracker salmon. All adequate, but nothing special.

Booked a table, arrived to meet a girl behind a laptop. Didn?t get up, just pointed and said your table is over there and we weren?t the only ones. No service with a smile from restaurant staff but bar staff were great. Nice range of beers and wines, lovely ambience otherwise I would have rated this 1*. Food was average at best. Maybe our expectations are higher but in today?s world of money being tight and treats being rare I expected more from The Fox Covet.

We're 1hour and not asked for our starter yet . Went to bar many to get drink for wife and four pints later left without been asked want for starters or main course

Absolutely amazing meal for my dads birthday. Not many places which serve a traditional home made mince and dumplings on their menu anymore! All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. Gorgeous little pub and very friendly staff. Food was quick and service was great. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent meal at The Fox Covert, we had two courses with drinks including steak and the cost was £70 plus tip. Steak was perfect for me and my wife had a starter as a main course with some side dishes as well. Couldn't manage a pudding as the first two courses were very filling. Wish I had taken pictures of the meals and would definitely go back.

Fantastic pub. Brilliant atmosphere. Superb food, tasty,well cooked and hot. Friendly staff nothing too much trouble and always smiling, courteous and friendly . Good selection of beers. Worth booking a table, although they do their best to accommodate you.

Not all disability is visible. I have difficulty standing for long persuading. Josh was so understanding and organised chairs for me and my husband so we could see the singer who was fabulous. He really went the extra mile. The food was great but the portions are huge. Thank you josh for all your care and understanding.

Booked for the restaurant 20th for our anniversary, when we arrived we were told that there was a function in the restaurant, and we couldn't sit in there, no one bothered to phone me. For their short term gain the long term custom of myself and my family has been lost. Thanks again Fox Covert for nothing. This is the second time they have done this to me.

We had a table booked waited to be seated no one came so went to the bar, we were then seated and waited for a menu no one brought we found one on another table a second later we where asked if we would like to order said no as we had just found a menu. When the food came the veg and chips I would say were warmed up and not at all fresh. We gave this a second chance but won?t be going back.

Absolutely wonderful meal here ?\\nThere were three of us, myself and some friends visiting from Sheffield. They asked me to choose somewhere nice for a meal, so naturally I booked a table here.\\nMr G was a happy chappy with his pint of Old Peculiar!\\nFor mains we had the Chicken Jo Jo, and Mince and Dumplings. Both were lovely, home cooked, fresh and very yummy?.\\nMrs G commented how nice it was to have a choice of fresh vegetables with chips rather than just a \\\" few salad bits\\\".... Also... THOSE CHIPS! Hand made, well browned and fluffy inside. Banging.\\nPudding. Well worth coming for the Biscoff Cheesecake alone!\\nOverall, fantastic service, super friendly staff who were attentive; but not overbearing, great food and great value too.\\n1pint, 2 soft drinks, 3 mains and 3 desserts for less than £75!

Booked for Sunday lunch. Reservation was for 2.15 pm we arrived 10 mins early and was told to wait in the bar area which was fine but we still hadn?t been seated so reminded a member of staff we had a reservation I was told they were waiting for the previous customers to leave the table! it took until 3pm to be seated. we eventually had food at 3.40 needless to say we didn?t stay for dessert as who knows how long that would have taken. No apology offered for the delay. Very disappointing visit. Food was nice just unfortunately the service lets it down. We would have been better off walking in as they were sitting and eating while we were still waiting to be seated.

Fantastic home cooked food, every meal we've had has been delicious,very good portions excellent value for money, my favourite place for food, definitely deserves a 5 star rating ???

Lovely family meal out. Great food and friendly staff. Was very busy, but service was very good.
