Had the family there tonight, food was really nice. but waitress asked if we wanted pigs in blankets, yes we ordered 8 portions which came after we nearly finnished our meals, also burnt and some under cooked. was not told about refilling soft drinks but got charged £23.70 for nothing. Also charged for a pint we never had, or ordered. Management NEED TO TELL THERE STAFF TO EXPLAIN THAT TO CUSTOMERS...

Our first visit to this restaurant.All the staff were welcoming, friendly and polite!The carvery had plenty of meats to choose from and a good range of vegetables and sides.We really enjoyed our experience and will be returning.

We were unfortunately disappointed with this restaurant, we arrived 10 minutes earlier than our booking to be informed that there was only gammon and pork left which is poor for 19.30 and peak dining time, however the welcoming host informed us that we could have sausages as well at no extra charge as a compromise - once we had arrived at the serving deck , the chef had other ideas and would only allow sausages instead of the gammon or pork and not in addition. One of our party ordered the vegetarian melt but was actually served a spinach and mushroom dish by mistake and he had to wait for another dish to be cooked whilst the rest of the party were eating. Finally there is still an issue with flies in this restaurant which is off putting when eating your food .we had the 50% voucher which softens the experience but would not be happy to pay full price for this experience in the future !!

Went in for an impromptu carvery as we were craving a roast! Izzy C was our server and she was extremely polite and welcoming adding a nice touch to our night out. Food was great as always and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals!

The quality of the food was perfect, and the setting was lovely - as expected. Staff were friendly but would often just be stood around the till area talking. The restaurant was busy, so can forgive the noise, but there was mess left on tables and no knives set out. Price seems to have gone up, which is a

Came for a family breakfast on the way out of town. Yasmin our server was really lovely and our stay welcoming and friendly. Had quite a large drinks order as lots of us. Everything was super speedy and handled with care!

We called on Sunday as my Husband had a hospital appointment, when we walked in it was packed, we hadn't booked as we had travelled over from Grimsby & didn't know how long it would take us, due to traffic etc.The young ladies at the booking in desk were very good & said they would try to prioritise our wait which they did, we were only waiting 15 minutes. My review would have been 5 stars but the roast potatoes weren't as crisp & brown as they usually are but the choice of meats & temperature of the food was very good. We will come back again.

Trusty family carvery. You know you?ll get a decent meal here. Staff are always excellent. Only issue we have is that it?s near to a tip and sometimes gets a bit smelly and there?s often flies in the restaurant. Staff do all they can to stop it (mesh on the doors/windows etc).

On arrival we asked if we could eat and if they?re still serving food they said yes once seated, the waitress seem to have an issue with our table in which they were discussing our table and not in a nice manner which we overheard even before we ordered as we didn?t all want carvery. it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive after asking twice, and all the staff were on their phones as we waited - very unprofessional. The food was good and the carver was very nice as well as the other staff aside from our waitress (blonde haired female with glasses and cat makeup?) as well as this, the ?warm? chocolate brownie came and was cold and then we were rushed out as they wanted to close early. Was a waste of time and money, bad atmosphere and very rude waitress.

First time at a Toby for years, Food quality was excellent as were portions of meat served by William and service was great by Nikki. Saw Nikki have to deal with a table of very difficult customers and Nikki did it in a cool, calm and professional manner.Overall great meal will come back again

Yasmin was lovely as is all the staff. I have a daughter with complex needs and the staff always go out of their way to make sure she is comfortable and seated in a quiet environment, today yasmin was extra lovely and i think she deserves a review for her excellent customer service x

Terrible! As soon as we walked in the staff looked up happy and stressed and as we were arriving a family were leaving complaining about the wait. We were told approximately 10minute wait which didn?t surprise me as I could clearly see a few table vacant but with dirty plates etc? 35 minutes later we were seated dispite being told 10mins and spending the whole 35min standing next to an empty table for door just inside the door? after 30 min I started to get irritated so started taking photos of all the possible tables people could have been sat since we arrived? Once seated was told go get your carvery when ready and then the host walked off. No ?have you been before? ?Are you ok for drinks? just there go, bue? which saved me some money as while waiting the 35 min I decided I?d have a starter but wasn?t offered any and after waiting the initial 35 minutes then another 5 we decide no waiter or waitress was coming. Small queue got our meat then the veg?. Well looked like a Bomb had gone off. No cabbage, the carrots looked dirty as if not peeled prior to cutting and cooking, no roast potatoes, scraps of mash left and a spoon of peas?. After another few minutes of our meats going cold the veg was replenished? then went to gravy and sauces. Sauces NO GO blatant cross contamination! White drips which I hope was horseradish drips across ALL sauces. Mustard in than apple sauce (I?m allergic to mustard) and had pork so disappointed by this ? then the gravy ? well there was gravy everywhere!! Over all the handles, the sides everywhere ? Then we got to eat some. The meat a little dry but it?s a carvery that?s sometimes expected. Some of the roast potatoes were still very hard in the middle (one flew onto the floor from my dates plate as she cut into one) .. the peas and carrots were tasteless. Rest good though? No check back, no how?s the food, everything ok, more drinks. No service at all. We finished leaving a large proportion of the meal on the plates (mostly hard potatoes and tasteless carrots and peas). Then waited about 20minutes after finishing we decided to walk up to one of the tills and just pay and leave. Still hungry so with a couple of apologies and good service could have bought desserts AND A COFFEE!! nope. Waitress asked where we sat and how it was while giving us the bill? I was clearly unhappy and said ?well we ate what was edible?? no follow up question or apology or explanation offered. We paid and left with goodbye, or thanks for coming or see you again or anything. ?

Very busy, it was Bank Holiday. The queue at the carvery was long,but staff were efficient and the man on carvery was cheerful & helpful. The choice of carvery was good and we all enjoyed our food.A special mention to JUDY our waitress. An elderly member of our group has disability. Judy was extremely helpful, giving advise & making sure everything was OK ?Will return.

Yasmin was fantastic helping my elderly grandparents by escorting them to the front of the queue for their carvery, so they didn?t have to stand too long. Equally, when there was a spilt coffee, she was quick to replace both food and drink and had a great, positive vibe about her. Made the experience much better and people like her should be rewarded for doing great work

Lisa the carver went out of her way, new Yorkshire puddings others were flat! New cauliflower, new stuffing and when I asked if she had anymore beef she got a fresh one. Very helpful and nice to see a smile.Judy the waitress was helpful and chatty to us, remembered our boys and spoke to them, asked them about college and what's next for them ( both have SEN ) the staff have always been very helpful here. ?
