Like this place a lot. We come about once a week either for a meal, a film, a flamenco show or simply to have a glass of wine. Has a nice vibe and bar staff are super. However, there is a horribly pompous man that I believe is the owner. Despite our regular visits, donations to his neglected building and regularly introducing friends and family to the place he speaks to us like a 1950s headmaster. Our small dog was asleep on my coat on one of his ancient decrepit sofas and he told me in a totally charmless way to put my coat and the dog on his grubby floor. We?d just spent £19 on 2 drinks and before we?d even taken a sip he comes over and totally ruins the evening.

Fantastic venue for a gig. The acoustics are good and there are comfy chairs with tables and a bar in the hall. However one star is reduced due to finding the "best" seats were reserved when we arrived early. If you can solve the dark-arts of saving seats then I recommend it.

What a wonderful place to catch a film, complete with a variety of comfy chairs in this 50 seater venue complete with bar and restaurant in central St Leonards, just 5 minutes from my doorstep. How lucky am I? Friendly helpful staff. Recommended. On another note if u r looking for a roomy quieter later night bar then cocktails at Kino are great! The White Russian went down a treat?

I've only been to the Kino theatre a few times. Not to see blockbuster films, more the gentle end of cinema. It is a unique gem, with restaurant, 2 bars with great cocktails . Shame I'm always driving, but my mates can enjoy. Comfy seats including sofa chairs. I saw The Miracle Club this evening. Rated poor by the Guardian. What do they know?! Featured my home town, and Lourdes. I think they got the Poolbeg chimneys wrong as they weren't there in 1967. That's just me googling and being picky. This is a great venue to enjoy poignant films that can resonate quietly with the main demographic. Middle aged female folk.

Saw 'The Great Escaper' there the other night. The film was brilliant but it was enhanced by the place itself; the auditorium is truly impressive, featuring the original domed ceiling. The ambiance was great; you can enjoy a glass of wine from the bar while watching the movie and the audience were all like minded, there to enjoy the film. There was even a round of applause at end! An excellent evening.

So lovely to return to what was The Curzon cinema of my childhood and youth. Nice informal atmosphere. Many fewer seats than before but nice touches are sofas and easy chairs. Saw The Great Escaper starring Sir Michael Caine and Glends Jackson - both superb performances. I am keeping an eye on showings as it was good to go back!!
