Well, I needed to pay in some cash and with my local HSBC having bitten the dust I thought why not treat yourself to a visit to the post office in smiths and join the slow queue and listen to people who have nothing else to do all day moan about how ridiculous it is only having one till open, this makes my day, scouring my diary right now to plan another visit

Insulted my daughter with her friends when they were looking to buy something. Rachael said "Can you stop touching, the cameras are watching" ridiculously pathetic performance. The shop is way overpriced anyway so please avoid

Tragically bad and dated. Awful merchandising and layout straight out of the 1980s. Friendly staff try hard, but seriously out of touch with modern bookshops and what modern customers expect.
Once all the pensioners who shop here no longer go out shopping, this outlet will close down unless they can modernise

Nice to have a bookshop in Uckfield. For me many more books and less cards would improve it and be a huge plus for the town

Good store, but post office leaves a lot to be desired. One middle aged lady is absolutely lovely, helpful & friendly. However, the other two, a lady & a guy, are real jobsworths. Watch out, as there is a bit of a power trip going on with these two & I think they are just those sort of people who love to say "computer says no".

WHSmith well I can be very helpful there is others that just seem to let you get on find very distressing especially when I try to get a set of closed doors do not stay open unless somebody is holdingmy sister is trying to hold both of them at the same time and I was trying to get through them with my mobility scooterthe doors ended up slamming on my scooter and a piece of metal off of people ended up scratching the side of my so I wasn't very impressedbut I do understand they have to do certain things with this virus that's going on but surely they could have waged the doors back knowing that disabled people but need to cut come out of those doors as well as every other day people I know they have to do the one way system and I understand that I've got no what is quite simple just to wait the doors so they're disabled can get out as well

Probably one of the worst shops on the high street. Have a good range of books, stationary, food and drink. However it is all very overpriced for what it is. if you want cheaper stationary and books then I would advise going somewhere like The Works or Tesco (or failing that try online!) as they also sell these products, but at a much better price. The customer service is often ok. Most people just come in here to get to the post office at the back anyway...

I liked it but I felt the staff could have been a bit more friendly

Good sized store with plenty of various products available including toys, sweets, chocolate as well as the usual books and stationary. The aisles are a bit narrow so if you are in a wheelchair I would think twice about a visit. I bought a large diary and there is a great choice.

A reasonable well placed shop in the middle of the High Street and well stocked. It benefits from having the Post Office too. There's plenty of magazines but should you require a transport related magazine the you have to crawl on the floor to get them. Unless your eye level is 2' from the floor you can't even see the titles......no good if you're a bit old!
