I was lucky that all NHS mental health hospitals had no availability. I was in Priory Ticehurst for over 4 weeks. I feel that everything was above my expectations. The staff are friendly and helpful. Every staff member apart from a couple seemed really caring. I feel Michelle,Peter OK, Craig,Nick, Sara Alex, Barry Dennis are the HCA'S from UpperCourt were the one's that I had the most dealings with and they all delivered.Michelle is like a superwoman she is extremely busy all the time. She is so good and energetic.Peter OK, is a nurse who is also determined to get thing's done.DR Hansjee and Dr Raquel are also brilliant. The therapy groups supplied are very helpful and Megan and Rachel are lovely and friendly. The O.T team are also fantastic.Food is amazing!Keystone staff are extremely helpful, caring and compassionate.I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff! My stay here has completely helped me with my Recovery.

Very unprofessional..felt belittled and unimportant when he took a phone call about his car during my assessment. It's a big deal to get yourself mentally prepared..and at a cost of £360 for the hr. Simply not good enough

i cannot express what the place has done to me. i was sectioned here for over 2 months and it was the worst and most traumatic experience of my life. there?s too much to go into to even describe details - all that i will say is that watch the documentary of ticehurst priory that?s on youtube. nothing has changed

I personally found the noise level (banging doors) incredibly triggering and the lack of food options an issue as I'm sensitive to food textures but staff tried to be as friendly as possible and respect privacy! Definitely need to heal some more from being here but it's definitely not the worst out there! hope they get the vape machine working again XD thank you for the care I received at my short stay

Our family member was transferred to this facility, the persons stay way was for around two weeks there about. The person was eventually let out of the premises into the local community and allowed x amount of time off site tooNow as parent's it was the family member informing us about they was coming home on a weekend, anyhow to cut a long story short they returned the family member back on the midweek. No notification and planning or care plan has been discussed with us for the family member, no follow up with the family member to see if they are OK, nothing dumped off and feel like expected for the individual just to get on with life and just feels like a statistic, the same with the NHS too no plan has been discussed or any guidelines or guidance given or information on whom to contact for support nothing whatsoever ever.Sadly the place was supposed to of returned a telephone call they didn't telephone as promised,If your the manager and directors of Ticehurst and NHS please leave a direct telephone contact number and email address too and we will be in touch to discuss our family members safeguarding in detail and this conversation further. An email has also been sent to Andrew wilcocks no reply at the momentThank you

My daughter was admitted and I drove two and a half hours to take her there. My daughter had been car sick on the way and was extremly anxious. We were met by a non caring Older grumpy and very rude lady who was very casually dressed. I have never been spoken to so badly and they treated my daughter in a non caring way. People need to be treated with care and respect. At point of admission people are probably in a very distrssed state and need to be treated with care and TLC. We saw nothing of this. A terrible place indeed!! It should be closed down!!I note a standard reply from them and also other poor reviews. Clearly a job for the QCQ to inspect, review and sort the staff issues.!!19.12.22 I have since spoken to a GP within the NHS who suggested that this place should be under investigation by the CQC. It seems they take NHS patents and get paid by the NHS for that. The treatment they give in return is absolutly appalling. The staff should be ashamed, in particular a scrufffy look old lady called Julie who needs to be retired straight away. Please NHS stop using this terrible institution!!!

This place gave me more trauma instead of support. I recieved very little therapy here and most was group DBT. For someone with ASD and social anxiety, group therapy is not appropriate as the only form of therapy. This hospital worsened my mental health drastically. I cannot believe that they get people to pay large amounts of money to get "help" there. Sorry, TeD talk over...

Compared to NHS mental health hospitals, this place is the beesnees. If not for the friendly staff who wanna help constantly, activities and ward rounds, it'd be the beautiful gardens and outsanding food.

Well what can I say, this hospital is just outstanding for the care and support they show to their patients. My son was here for a few weeks and we cannot thank them enough for the kindness they shown him. They kept me updated on his progress all the way through his stay. The doctors are marvellous and so supportive of not only the patient but the family too.Thank you to every single person who helped take care of my son you are all just amazing??

I was kept against my will as an informal patient for over 24hours, I was left with severe bruising from excessive restraint, and injected with seditives against my will whilst 5 staff members pinned me down and I screamed. An incredibly negligent hospital, which has left me with significant medical trauma. Do not let anyone you love be treated here.

Most the reviews are on doctify as an fyi. I was in Highlands and generally the staff were amazing, they got a bit busy if it was full but there were groups to participate in. Dr Koen, one of the psychiatrists, absolute star, he sorted my meds, he was kind and had a sense of humour too!

"I am currently a patient at this hospital, and have no idea where these negative reviews come from, or the basis of them. I have been an inpatient for 4 weeks now, and have found the staff friendly, polite, professional and go out of their way to help in any way. They were especially considerate and approachable when I first arrived and made me feel really safe, and welcomed. The food is absolutely fantastic, the living areas homely, and there is much going on each day on the activity program, which is also very varied and something that is enjoyable and passes the day. I have a very thorough care plan which is updated each week, and the psychiatrists and the mental health teams are excellent and really address and listen to your needs. One of things I noticed most was how wonderful the staff were at just listening and hearing me.I genuinely don't understand some of the negative posts, and would send a friend or family member here without doubt. I hope this has been a fair, and totally unbiased review, from one patient to hopefully not another, however for all those reading this I wish you or your loved one well should they need residential care ... remember asking for help was the bravest thing I ever did, and so far the best thing."

I was very hopeful when my wife first came here following a dip in her mental health and needing help. But the treatment my wife has received here in the last 3 weeks has been appalling and I have been desperately trying to get her home for over a week to get her better treatment. Her community psychiatrist and I are both in agreement that she is not receiving any quality care here.In the few weeks she has been here the psychiatrist Dr Bennett has been threatening her with a section 2 and over prescribing benzodiazepines to subdue. Finally after a climax tonight while trying to discharge herself with my confirmation he has achieved so. Removing all of her autonomy despite being compliant and voluntary. Having had conversations with him and then another psychiatrist both feel our 17 year relationship deems me incapable of knowing what's best for my wife. The staff make it very difficult to get any information and there is zero stimulation or therapy for anyone here. Tina who works here is one of the few staff who has bothered to talk to me however, she seriously lacks any empathy and is more concerned with the stress of her job.A cold and callous nurse turned me away after a 20mins of seeing my wife. I was then told the following night I could have stayed longer. Yaz the nurse I will say is a treasure and deserves much credit as he cares for the patients. My wife is here due to the overflow in the NHS and now she has been finally sectioned following the several threats I gravely worry for her care. I fear she will be further institutionalized and despite us repeatedly telling them she is safe to return to the community this will not be heard.Perhaps this kind of 'archaic' and 'cruel' treatment might be suitable for a person without any support network or realisation of there mental condition. And the slow pace and mentality of things 'might happen' responds well with some patients. But in my wife's situation she is very self aware and very well supported, with a family and a job regardless...this facility will not care about anyone's wellbeing.

I cannot fault the staff at Ticehurst Priory in helping my granddaughter. She likes most of them ,and to some she has been very attached . They have kept her mother and myself well informed all through her treatment . They have gone out of their way to take her on home visits. She is in the children's department.
