I never post reviews of anything, but since taking on power-of-attorney (PoA) for parents I have had a terrible time with Barclays, and this morning was, as usual, awful! It's not the frontline staff, they are fine, it's the (dis)organisation of the place.When you go in, there is no-one to tell you which of the many different queues you need to join, and no useful signage either. The sign over the automatic tills says you can transfer money between accounts - so I thought that would work. But oh no, of course it didn't! For PoA the machine just locks up and won?t do anything, and of course it doesn?t tell you why (that PoA is not supported).So eventually I just had to give up and go off to join another queue, where I?m eventually directed to yet another queue ? Here I?m told I?m finally in the right place, and now please take a seat and wait for another 30 minutes! I was, by this time, absolutely steaming.Eventually another unlucky young person had to interact with me. He sorted the transfer in about 30 secs, which is exactly what it should have taken in the first place. I then enquired as to why this had been impossible to do on the telephone ? the transfer over the phone had previously failed as Barclays? text to my mobile had not arrived. We had assumed that was because they had my mobile number wrong, although of course, being Barclays, they couldn?t check that because it was against the policy to be able to do that.But even that was wrong ? they couldn?t text my mobile because that?s against policy for PoA accounts!!!!! Not that the Barclays person on the phone knew that ? they didn?t!Honestly you couldn?t make up the levels of disinformation, obfuscation and obstruction that you have to deal with.Just never bank with them. Ever.

This branch is disgraceful I had an appointment for 3pm and i am 7 months pregnant and I was in a lot of pain/pressure from needing a toilet I got told my adviser would be 15/20 minutes late I asked kindly if I could use their toilets and the lady informed me they are secured toilets so public can?t use them understanding explaining i am in a lot of pain and she?s more than welcome to stand outside while I go she was very rude I so approached a man and asked him and he told me they haven?t got toilets? So I had to walk to costa for the gentleman to alow me to use the toilet and when I made a complaint to be told under certain circumstances they should of had been more understanding on the situation due to having either disability?s of being pregnant .I?m so shocked but Barclays online banking have reported this there self and I?m hoping the manger Jason will address this in future so many customers or people in similar situations would feel more at ease .

I found the staff on Saturday 28/03/2020 very friendly and helpful, they conducted themselves with the utmost courtesy under very difficult circumstances. Well Done

At Barclays Bank today. No help on the machine s press help no one helps ,not got any staff to help you stood there for 35 min ,I have always banked with Barclays now looking for new bank as this bank as got worse
